Hey jrod, I am the old bio-crackdog you are referring to, it's been a while. After not playing for quake for 8 years I happened to come across this website and started playing again. We had ctf games going strong for quite a while, but like all good things it didn't last. What have you been up to?

That's awesome. I was actually talking with Blaze and Crypto on IM and we were talking about Quake so I googled it to see if there was anything still left which brought me here...
As for what I'm up to... Married, 2 kids, house, dog, career... I guess I'm all grown up. I still play some games, mostly MMOs (not WoW) and some sports shit on the 360. I'm old now so I don't have that young fast twitch response you need for FPS games anymore.
R00k, I played with MyTH for a short stint. The climax of my quake career was during my time with BB. I did go on to play Q3 ctf and dm a bit as well as some SoF2. I tried Quake 4 for about a total of 5 hours.
However, I still do have my Quake folder. I recently had to rebuild it and lost all my demos, screen shots, etc... but if some pick up games were to start, I might be inclined to dust it off and get it working. I'd probably suck but it'd be fun to play it again. I have no desire to get back into it like the good ol' days but I'd, more than likely, be down for a few hours a week.
Funny story, cd. I was talking to someone about the game where you and I ringed for opposite teams playing eachother. All hell broke loose and I think we ended up getting both teams dq'd. That was some fun shit and boy was I a HUGE asshole.Last edited by jayrahd; 09-10-2009, 08:13 AM.

most of us are old(er), so the attitude has leveled off. Back in the day (even in 1998 i felt like a noob) everyone was smack talk'n etc. now its just a mellow game. Though, we havent played more than 3 matches in the last 6 months!
I still have like 2 gigz of Quake demos, and I think I have TWO from that nqctf tourney
I cant play this weekend, im going to Chicago to see U2

That's good to hear. It's amazing how old we all are now considering it feels like yesterday that I was playing quake in high school. I think I needed a long break from playing this game due to the copious amount of hours I spent playing quake over a 2 year period. Now I look back at those days with a bit of nostalgia.
I remember that match you are referring to, pretty funny stuff. Reminds me of another funny quake game involving you. Me and dubious had pretty much mastered how to play ctf2m3 (spill the blood) 2 v 2. I'm not kidding when I say you could put the 2 best hpbs at that time and we'd have no problem rolling them on that particular map. Wouldn't be the case on ctf 1, but for sure on ctf2m3. I saw you and someone else on a server and suggested to dubious in irc that we come up with a couple of aliases, hop on the server and act like a couple of newbies (there were plenty around those days, no one would know we were up to something). We purposely played horribly on ctf 1 against you and your teammate in order to set you guys up for a beating on ctf2m3 (or so we thought). It took a while to convince you to play another map, after the trouncing we took. Then we loaded up ctf2m3 for a rematch. You and whoever else it was proceeded to beat us down on 2m3. Probably the only time we ever lost that map playing together. The irony of thinking your setting up someone for a beating only to get beatdown yourself is pretty hilarious. Don't remember if you left before we revealed our true aliases to you.
Anyways, maybe all of us still lurking around can come up with a day and a time we can all meet up for a for a couple games each week / month. You'd be surprised at all the people who come out of the woodwork if you get a game going consistently.

I perfectly willing to make NEW maps. The mod, itself is solid. So there's n0t much to be coded (except persistent stats!).... CD I know u had some map ideas, i can pound out a map in 1 week atleast.
I say this cause people feel leery playing when everyone else has an advantage, but a new map, its even for all. Maybe?

Haha... I remember and think you ended up coming into IRC later. Hopefully I didn't make an ass out of myself. I remember catching on soon enough that I had been set up but wasn't sure who it was until later.
I played a lot of QWCTF between BSF HPB dying and joining BB. My connection went to shit and QW became the only thing I could compete in. What CTF1 was to NQCTF was what 2m3 was to QWCTF so I played it a ton and got pretty good at it. A couple months later, I was able to get Earthlink and my 150-200 ping that, at the time, was smooth as glass so I came back to NQ and was able to complete fairly well.
