I'm at the PulseGate CTF server (chicago.pulsegate.net). I know it's after 12am but if you fuckers want a game or to just play practice mode with grapple hook, I'm down.

Haven't played since Trini crashed and burned
God I miss it.
The only game goin' on is Rune DM on Shmack.
God I hate it.

I'm in Australia btw...(regularly despised for my high ping : )
but I'm always on the look out for a CTF game.
I'll keep an eye on this thread...but I won't be holding my breath.

Be great if we could get something happening...
which may rely on recruiting some of the Shmack 'kids'? : )
(I still can't believe that Rune mod has captivated the ol' Trini CTF crew?)

Anyway, looking forward to a game sometime.

EDIT: Just wanna clarify that I don't hate Runequake...it's a good mod for DM...
it's just that I'm not that fond of DM - I find it boring after about 10 mins...
and all a bit pointless. At least with CTF there's teamplay and a bit more strategy.

yea he doesn't check IRC often. A while back when everyone was ctf'ing like mad, ava actually showed up for a few games.

I would play though, I dont ejoy shmack that much. Its just the only server where I can get a "game on demand." It just fits my schedule better.

Okay...I've been hanging out on the CTF.QUAKEONE server for a few weeks...(intermittently of course : )
...and managed to play a few games which has been cool.
Although all my 'high ping nightmares' quickly came flooding back...
...mostly just running around for the entire game...dying a lot while trying to find a wep : )

[If I was running a server I would have 'weapons stay' and 'Quads OFF'...
as IMHO...all Quad does (besides being gay) is help the best players (+hax) dominate
which isn't conducive to an even game. (Tho I'm sure you're unlikely to agree ; ) ]

Anyway, if you're looking for a game, I've discovered (perhaps quite obviously)
that the best way is to hang out on the server (early evenings is best - USA time) for some degree of time.
It's no good logging on...running around for 10 mins then pissing off.

So the best way I find, is to 'start windowed'...
(ESC to menu screen so ya get ya Windows mouse back - (don't forget the handy ALT-ENTER to toggle fullscreen))
and just keep an eye on it...which means you can do other things on the comp while you're waiting.
It may take 30 mins or an hour...but someone will join...
which greatly increases your chances of a game. (With 2 on the server)
(Again, sorry if this seems obvious...just thought it might help some people out.)

Oh...and er...thanks ROOK for QRACK...it's plenty cool.
Although I don't think I'll be playing much anymore...
as people like to point out...these days...a 250 ping IS unplayable.
Still good fun tryin' tho

Hey Dallas I was with ya the other night. Ya, it was ok for a while till the robot appeared - Whorific was its name. It electrocuted itself in the water on Wizards manse when I shot it while it was half submerged in the water...it must be programmed to give the most recent attacker priority, as it was trying to kill player while hooks-winging all over the map....I messed up its plan - lol. So easy to spot them. Its too bad those kind of jokers are still doing that after all these years, ya hope by now they would learn, but I guess if not by now, its never.
