    I died in E2M6 in 10 seconds. Creative thinking helps!
    But I will not post the demo just yet. I will keep you in suspense for a while. HAR HAR HAR!!

      Hm, will have to check that. Off the top of my head:

      a) squished by the lift (in which case you made the jump that my crappy fps prevents me to make)

      b) enlisted the help of some monster and died of something ridiculous.

      c) fell to your death, doing both of the above.

      I'm aware of those but can't do them technically (cannot jump the pit.)

      Anyway, you have me scratching my head and loading up the map :-D

          Hehe. That's clever, but I found out just while you were posting the demo.

          The first thing I tried was getting squished by the raising stairs. But that's probably impossible.

          The second thing was exactly this, step 1 being the bridge squish method and step 2, as seen in your (cool) demo was using the fiend. :-)

          Very good. Probably no-one has thought of that before.

          How many maps will be done like this in the end? Monster -> get squished by something with a ridiculously low damage rating like doors etc.

          Will it become so cheesy as to break the project?

          Time and foqer will tell. :-E

            BTW, that lift at the beginning...
            If you let it squish you, it only does 2 damage. :p
            You would have to let the fiend tear you up to either 1 or 2 damage and still be alive somehow. This actually takes a bit of luck, as he usually gets you to 8 or so heath and kills you. You will see if you try my method.

              This also means that the "hardest" (well conventionally!) map is DONE.

              BTW this is very similar to what I did in e2m3. Demo attached.

                Uh, lift? I meant the big three-storey lift in the second part, which will squish you instantly but you have to jump the pit. SDA folks can probably do it, but hey! your demo is much niftier.

                In the e2m3 demo, I'm down to 1 health. :-P because of just that issue (low damage.)

                  E2M3, I guess I can try it...
                  no matter what I do in E1M1, I can't beat 12 seconds. I die AT 12 seconds. Every time. No matter how I cross the gap, no matter if I kill anything or not...

                    I have an 11 second e1m1 demo. But only *just* under 12. It's a very clean run, just bunny-bunny-bunny-BOOOM.

                    If I get several demos that are around the same time, I think looks should decide. i.e. style points should be awarded. We shouldn't do any hairsplitting as I said earlier. Full seconds in the status bar decide, and after that, style. It should just be nice to watch.

                        I just posted the "slower" one because IMO it looks better.

                        And I did another cheesy one, in e3m4. If you need work, you can try to improve that because it's not optimal, you can probably get squished on the first lift/door cycle. Demo attached.

                        I see the rage is building well within you :-D

                        I was thinking if we should disallow using normal doors, but when I look at the maps, it seems unlikely that the squishing will go on for too long. Fortunately.

                              You must die in E1M2 without getting spiked. You can still use the spikes to damage you though.

                                Keep the ball flat focquer, I cannot be challenged. ;-) I am a feared Sith Lord. *waahaha* now you all know it.

                                (Technical note: Can you stop your recordings a little later, i.e let the dying scene sink in a little? The stuff will be edited anyway, so rather leave it running for some more seconds after dying. Otherwise we get Chop Suey in the final demo. Just bind some key to "stop" if you haven't already.)

                                I just played around with the editing tool, and found a cool way of showing several versions on the same map, without using a menu. See demo.

                                Everybody loves watching a movie backwards, right. And faster.
