My router crashed, so I can only have one PC connected to the internet at a time, as there is only one RJ45 (ethernet) port on my modem. Server will be unreliable (up/down) until further notice as I have to share internet with others...
Solecord pointed the DNS hub.quakeone.com to the other DNS quake1.ath.cx, which I have control over, so no matter how many times my IP changes, I can change it in the DNS quake1.ath.cx, thus fixing the DNS hub.quakeone.com as well.
I bought a (sort of) old computer for $40, it has a P3 750MHz and 768MB RAM. Instead of buying a router, I will use this computer as my router by stuffing it full of network cards and using Windows Internet Connection Sharing. I havn't actually got the computer yet, and I need other parts still to make it complete, but it will be up and running soon. Also, this computer will be hosting my Quake servers instead of my good PC, so it will be less sensitive to downtime (reboots, testing, etc)
Update:
I got some parts today but I still need more. My uncle can give me the rest but getting a hold of him is like trying to catch the greased-up deaf guy from Family Guy...
