I found a BIOS update for it, now I can use my P3 750... just as I suspected. Mwahahahahahaha.

Yeah it's almost ready. Most of the work is already done, i.e. actually getting it running/optomized. I still need to get Quake on it and ... that's about it.

There are plenty on there (usually without a hard drive) with free shipping. And ram is cheap as dirt these days.

Hm, well I'm not going to shell out another $50-$100 for a third computer when this one does what I need it to do. The P2 300 was too slow but the P3 750 I have running in it now is robust enough.

Craaaaaaaaaaaaap.

Since the computer has 2 network cards, one for the main internet connection (to modem), one for the connection to my other computer, it sort of has 2 IPs. The connection to the modem has my internet IP, and the connection to my other computer has a network IP. Well for some reason when I start the Quake server, it lands on my network IP and not on my internet IP, so, my server doesn't exist outside my own network. I can connect to it using the network IP but not the internet IP.

Peg helped me out with the issue listed above. Using the -ip switch in the command line, I can plop the server on my net IP, which means it's accessable to YOU!

I'm going to run The Hub on the default port, Slide on 26001, and MetchDM on 26002. I'll make a new thread once I get it all setup, as this thread has just about reached the end of it's useful service life since I've went through a lot of changes since then.
