Friends, colleaguesneighbors of the internetz. I want to give a more heartfelt apology for my ramblings and suggestive accusations in the processing of my recent posts. After pulling the proverbial stick out of my ass, there is left, but a chafe, that still empathizes with Kimp and his social disposition I guess you could say that is my affinity Sticking up for the little guys and defending the ones at odds.
I have to admit, I had fun writing it, whereas I dont get to use so many fanciful vocabulary words in one strung out session. In an attempt to clear the mine field, if there is one, I am sorry for questioning anyones motives.

Personally, I don't like the idea of anyone being banned from the forum.
At the same time, someone ruining games intentionally in the Quake community is terrible.
I mean if Kimp would stop ruining games, no one would care and they'd likely forget the past rather quickly. But that doesn't happen, someone who has had a long history of ruining games doesn't stop doing it. It never happens.
I don't care about this particular "Kimp" ... I care about the fact that the server administration controls suck so bad that there can even be a Kimp.
I mean, in a "healthy" game community someone does that and within a week they'd be banned from all the servers. And the servers wouldn't be setup shittily (Omnicron did the connect and spam shit 2 years ago --- then a fix was written for it, why the f*** in a "healthy" game community is that not installed on every server?).
If someone is ruining games everywhere, they shouldn't have a 2nd life in the forum. If every "self-aware" server operator has you banned, therefore essentially the community (regardless of whether or not someone can proxy), then you shouldn't be in the forums either.
And then there is that issue, if you can evade a ban via a proxy then that is a joke too.
I wouldn't describe the Quake community as healthy in the "servers department" because anyone who wants to cause a problem, can cause a problem and it's a bit ridiculous. And nothing is going to change until the server administration capabilities are improved to deal with this.
/Btw those "unban" graphics are hilarious
Quakeone.com - Being exactly one-half good and one-half evil has advantages. When a portal opens to the antimatter universe, my opposite is just me with a goatee.
So while you guys all have to fight your anti-matter counterparts, me and my evil twin will be drinking a beer laughing at you guys ...

The fact that the community has put up with Kimp's misdeeds for so long and has had a lengthy discussion about whether permanently to ban him means that this community regards banning him as a regrettable last resort.
I don't know anyone who has been able to verify Kimp's identity yet. If you add my speculation about who Kimp is to everyone else's, you have quite a large range of possible Kimps to imagine. Some say he's multiple people. I heard one person say that Kimp's some familiar old-schooler in disguise. Some say that he's really just a younger kid. And some share my view that he has some mental disability. And there are others too. It's important to remember that this ban only seeks to stop his disruptive and antisocial behaviour because although we don't know who he is, we have thoroughly seen his pattern of behaviour, and no one can report a single sliver of hope that Kimp will change for the better if the situation continues.
Yet, one of the interesting things that strikes me about this entire Kimp episode is witnessing how long many people in the community had worked to get along with him. This means that having had allowed him to play in pickup games and so many having had played in the recent tourney does have more to do with the enjoyment of Quake and of the other members of the community than approving Kimp's behaviour. Master Splinter, as he fairly says, passionately defended the little guy, because he shares with the community the spirit of inclusivity. Naturally, we can continue feeling happy about this, can we not?

I wouldn't say happy, this actually hit hard in the quake community its pretty sad, I hope to never have to see this happen again. Preventative measures should be applied.
