Yeah, sick thread resurrection.
I've been using a Logitech M500 since I started Quaking again last month. I really like the general feel and shape of the mouse but two things about the design bug me.
One, I wish the scroll wheel had better response (lighter action) when used as a third button. It seems to require a lot of pressure which blows when trying to aim in Quake.
Two, the thumb buttons (mouse4 and mouse5) are too hard to reach for me. The bigger button (mouse4) is usable but requires me to move my thumb up way too much to hit it. I use my thumb and pinky to really grip the mouse and I have to release that grip to hit this button....I still use it in Quake but it's not so good, imo. The other button (mouse5) is pretty much completely unusable. I have to completely move my hand grip on the mouse to hit that button because it's so far forward compared to where I normally grip the mouse.
So, I'm kind of in the market for another mouse. I really dig the general shape/feel of logitech mice but I want my side-thumb buttons to be easier to hit...and I want a scroll wheel with easy response.
