I was informed of the court date against "John Doe" about 2 1/2 weeks ago, but I had seen hide nor hair of Kimp and have had my head wrapped in engine coding so I didn't have reason to be preoccupied with it. I think it was $845 well spent.

But it doesn't matter whether or not Kimp is screwing up games now or if he wasn't. I gave my word and that's that.

He can screw up games or not, same result.

That being said, when his name is public record it makes it easy for Solecord who controls QuakeOne.com to get a summary judgment against him for whatever Wisconsin laws Kimp has violated for being banned and re-registering 80 times at QuakeOne.com, etc. etc. I am not a lawyer, obviously, but Kimp is certainly violating both state and federal laws that can be pursued in civil court.

There is a reason being honorable is rewarded in this world. I look forward to seeing precisely what kind of life-long consequences Kimp has to deal with that comes from all of this.

I understand Kimp is a big troll and throws monkey wrenches into CA/DM games for whatever reason at times, but if some other players (like Demiurge) are correct in that Kimp has a mental disability, is it really right to be taking legal action against him? Whatever happened to the ban program that was written that was supposed to be Kimp-proof? Why not just implement that and use that against him rather than taking legal action against a supposedly mentally handicapped Quake troll?

People with mental disabilities are a threat to the human race and only degrade our evolution.

Wow, this guy is competant enough to release of modified version of Pro-Quake, but people shouldnt do anything about it because he has mental problems. I think Im going to start stealing cars and just saying I have mental problems so no one will take action against what Im doing

I'm just saying... people within the Quakeone community (such as Demiurge) seem to think that Kimp has a mental disability. This makes me think that it would be cruel to take legal action against him, if indeed this is the case. I should, however, make it clear that I don't know the extent of these legal actions, so I can't make a fair judgement on the matter. I would hate to see a guy with a mental issue locked up in a jail somewhere because he keeps trolling games.

My thoughts.

I don't think this is a laughing matter. When peoples lives are affected in a negative manner, its never funny to me.

However, I think what baker is doing is right (and legal). His actions against kimp are justified.

I also agree that kimp has some sort of disability. It would be nice to know more about it if we could. Perhaps this trial will bring out more personal information about kimp. Knowing more about kimps disabilities should help us deal with him better, and perhaps even help him become a participating and successful member of this community. With all his issues, he does have some talent.

What troubles me though is that one of his friends, Master Splinter, chooses not to help him at all. I'm not sure anyone on this forum knows kimp better than splint. For whatever reason Splints own issues meld well with kimp's. I tried to talk to splint yesterday about kimp a bit but he just didn't want to say anything.

Perhaps Splint will chime in here.

This is pretty serious stuff. Maybe we can help get kimp to see a doctor and get medicated.

I don't know... but kimp's current state isn't tolerable. I'd love too see him get help.

He was banned from the forums some time ago, reason being something along the lines of 'he serves no purpose here other than to facilitate Kimp activities'.
