for someone with mental disabilities he sure does know how to make exploited versions of quake and get around alot of things. The kid dont have a mental disability just a very boring life and finds it in his time to make people's lives hell over the internet for his own laughing satisfaction when he has nothing else better to do. He apparently pissed someone off bad enough to file a lawsuit and spend money on it. Me, personally wouldn't have dumped that much money on it but if you got the money and make shitloads of it why not? Kimp never really bothered me that much because i just ignored him. I don't really take this game seriously though... I just play to pass time when im bored and give people hell sometimes. I can see this court case on court tv (tru tv) lol

ok foq - first of all, why are just believing what Demiurge says, like he is the know it all of quake and who plays quake. Second, why don't you come up with your own judgement instead of listening to others.

Personally, I don't think Kimp has any mental disorders and even if he did, how can we tell over the internet? He's disrupted servers and people for years. Anyone who wants to take action against him/her is certainly justified.

To be clear: Your opinion doesn't matter. Only mine does.

I have all the say over this matter. You and everyone else in this thread has none. I am the one who had to spend $800+ (and counting) dealing with this nuisance, not you.

Kimp chose for it to reach this point. If you describe it as "shit hitting the fan", I am the fan. I am a nice person, but part of me is not nice at all. Kimp will be dealing with the latter. He created this situation, he made unwise decisions ... I don't believe for a second that Kimp is mentally challenged. I won't cry for him.

The only benefit of this situation is seeing Kimp's head on a stick as a clear warning to any future Kimp wannabee. There are consequences to bad behavior.

And with that, I resume engine coding .... I have important goals I want to wrap up that will benefit this community.

And you may think no one has a say, and you'd be right in realising that it's not quite what you think because long before you announced that Kimp had harmed you through a copyright violation, others and I were stridently advocating setting limits on Kimp and Master Splinter's behaviour while you smugly sat in the peanut gallery expressing aloof amusement and lauding the so-called naturalness, creativity, and "social evolution" of Master Splinter's pathetic defense of Kimp and his unwarranted insults and attacks on others, including the administrators of QuakeOne.

The fact that you posted this affair on a public forum means you invited people's comment on a public forum. I would like to suggest you keep this affair private should you in future decide that no one else's say matters but your own. Perhaps in the future, you'll learn better acuity in evaluating and more quickly taking heed of other people's wisdom instead of waiting until you are harmed so that you can chest-thumpingly claim the credit for the defense of conspicuous self-interest under the guise of having the moral high ground. Until then, you're merely defending your own self-interest and nothing more noble than that. You might want to stop telling people they have no say as an attempt to silence them, because you want to play the sole, tragic victim in a drama you helped write.

I agree Baker has gone above and beyond in service to the Quake community and I value and respect his contributions, and I would add that the real issue isn't his impressive contribution or how much I value them, but the specific point I made in my previous post.
