omg i havent been around this forum in a few months and kimp is still the biggest topic.. the kid dont have have mental problems lol.. he has no real life nor friends.. are you guys that far out of reality?

People with mental disorders =/= retarded.
My wife's sister has down syn. If she does something, then gets in trouble - she stops and it usually doesn't happen again. From hearing what this guy does - he has alot more mental capability than wife's sister. So disorder is a mute point.

Kimp crashes servers, fraudulently impersonates people in emails to server hosting companies like Fatpipes and many other activities which are no doubt illegal and that is just the beginning.

Lets put the situation on someone who might not be mentally disabled... Lets say forum member X makes a mental decision to ruin games,compile rule-breaking versions of ProQuake, impersonate "high ranking" people in order to get "root" communications with other "high ranking" people and become an out-right nuisance to almost every single person he is around on the internet.

Don't you think he would face the exact same punishment as someone such as Kimp? I feel people are seeing Kimp as a "Quake disorder" and no longer as a single person, but lets keep in mind "Kimp" is a real person who is breaking laws some of which are blatantly obvious.

I personally don't care if hes handicapped or not. He doesn't deserve special treatment in normal society, we all have to pay-bills, work and keep up our adult responsibilities. If Kimp really is only a child then I blame his parents. However if he is a grown man which I've heard hes about 34 years of age... Well then.. This guy obviously needs to be dealt with.

Also lets take this view of "Kimp activities" and pretend it doesn't exist solely in out little Quake 1 Universe... Do you think someone like Kimp only commits illegal act only on the populated Quake servers? I'm betting Kimp as committed more crimes then most people think and if thats the case then he messed with the wrong community.

Kimp has been countlessly warned and slapped on the wrist, he obviously didn't get the point so the punishment should be raised on the bar (Even if the notch on the bar is way up high in reality land).

I chose not to ban Kimp from my server bomber.quakeone.com (plug) not because I think he will act like decent person on my server, but because I know he won't. But adding one more "complaint" on top of the pile will only dig his grave deeper.. and he is single handedly digging his own grave WITH all his dirty laundry hanging out to dry in plain site.

Skill had nothing to do with what Kimp has done. He is a manipulator at heart and anyone with half a brain can make their own ProQuake version with time, effort and experience, Anyone of us can do exactly what Kimp does, we choose not to.

I also personally don't care if Kimp can get a "TGDM" going... He's wore out his welcome and now hopefully he will face a real wooden gavel.

I'm really glad someone (Baker) has the balls to actually do something about Kimp other then ban him AGAIN, its obvious he laughs at bans and has the ability to cheat at will (where he can) and break laws/rules.

the guy needs help, and im SURE if he is even only 40% screwed with some chemical imbalance, this way he may actually get the help he SO needs... he obv wont go to jail, if he's kookoo, maybe a hefty fine and some type of professional treatment.

I share your mindset (for the most part), you've just used more words than I have. Someone like Kimp who does, well, everything Kimp's been doing certainly does deserve some form of punishment. In any case, it's only natural for a person to flail his arms around in an effort to shoo off a swarm of mosquitoes. The community has been annoyed by Kimp (very repeatedly) and I can understand the desire to be rid of him.

The only part where our opinions differ is what should be done about it if Kimp turns out to be some guy with a mental disability. It seems more likely to me than not, considering how he's been trolling the community for so long. It also seems to me that the community in general is shifting their mindset about whether or not Kimp has a mental disability because it's convenient to say that he doesn't, now that the shit has come this close to hitting the fan and the issue of Kimp's mental status has been raised. I recall the majority of people agreeing with Demiurge when he originally came up with the idea of Kimp's mental disability, providing well thought-out steps to his conclusion, not merely "I think Kimp has a mental disability, that guy's just fucked up". I agree with Demiurge when he says Kimp has a mental disability. Who could possibly keep interest in trolling the last handful of leftover players on a 14 year old game for that long?

I never took Kimp's disability into consideration, there is no need to, I'm not the mental hospital H.M.F.I.C nor am I the Judge giving him his sentence, I am however fed up with Kimp's BS and will gladly help push him in the dirction so a mental state appraiser can evaluate him and either get him help, or throw the hammer at him.

Its like the old saying "Kill'em all... Let God sort'em out."

Where as Kimp would be the ill fated "all" and the Judge/Mental hospital H.M.F.I.C would be "God".

I have all the say over this matter. You and everyone else in this thread has none. I am the one who had to spend $800+ (and counting) dealing with this nuisance, not you.

Kimp chose for it to reach this point. If you describe it as "shit hitting the fan", I am the fan. I am a nice person, but part of me is not nice at all. Kimp will be dealing with the latter. He created this situation, he made unwise decisions ... I don't believe for a second that Kimp is mentally challenged. I won't cry for him.

The only benefit of this situation is seeing Kimp's head on a stick as a clear warning to any future Kimp wannabee. There are consequences to bad behavior.
