    Regarding webspace I used:

    I know, that there are many many different webspace providers.
    Everyone has its pros and cons.
    Rapidshare gives the free user around max. 250 kb/s with 15 minutes waiting time between files.
    It heavily depends on time of day of course.
    I am very sorry if this means a no-go for some of you.

    If you have trouble, i recommend to use download helpers like:
    - jdownloader
    - cryptload
    Simply copy/paste the links into them and they will do the job for you overnight.
    (they automatically wait, download, wait, download, ....)

      Maybe i can transfer some small files on my webspace, if my friend and host AxelDominator wont kill me for that...

        Something that I havent seen happen before is the "stop flooding our servers" message. Is everyone else getting that?

          It's not finished yet. Many things are still in developing like Reforged monsters or lava shader, that will be added later when it will be nicer. ...and i want to create alternative skins downloads, too!

            In your texture pack, there is a little glitch maybe. SKY1 and SKY4 replacements have the same color (purple). SKY4 should be blue, IIRC.

            Additionally, the mainmenu pic is showing "MAPS" instead of "HELP/ORDERING". You probably used a version meant for a different port. MoonDrunk is currently working on a new rusty menu, I guess it should be replaced by that one once it is finished.

                Neat. ^^ Still, I think Moondrunk's next menu will look even more true to the original. Anyway, no one knows when it will be finished, so I will continue fiddling around with stuff until I am 100% satisfied. xD

                  Yes, it's the Joequake menu, that i like it very much. But the MAPS menu item is wrong

                      This is a great initiative inkub0.
                      The only thing that is missing is a description of the different pk3s.
                      Just a short description of what they include and so on would be great.

                      One general question: hasn't anyone made any "faithful" remodels for the powerups (quad, pent etc.)?
                      More or less like the original but with a texture aligned so that there are no stretched pixels anywhere.

                          hey, you said this is intended for dummies right? 0k, my problem is, I have all those pk3 files into my Quake/id1/ folder... but nothing happens, ammo and weapons all look the same... I took the mp3 to the quake/id1/sound/cdtracks/ subfolder ...I renamed the mp3 to tra001, track 002 etc... converted the mp3's to Ogg and nothing happend... so, now I ask, WHAT THE FUCK AM I DOING WRONG? because I've been configuring dark places for... I don't know the last 4 fucking hours? and this shit is really starting to piss me off. The new textures for enemies work, the effectinfo.txt works and the config.cfg is already there and working... BUT STILL THE FUCKING MUSIC AND THE pk3 DOESNT FUCKING WORK!! this shit is driving me crazy!

                          please help!

                          btw: do I have to rename the pk3? convert them? extract the files on them to some folder? please... please help....

                            btw, when I opened the console, it says something like "no audio cd on drive 0, 1 etc etc" maybe that has something to do with the no music situation?

                              I just started having the same problem with the music. The ogg files worked initially but stopped working. I setup a quake directory with only darkplaces and the pak files along with the sound/cdtracks folders and still get the same error.
                              Edit: oops, I had the folder spelled "sounds" instead of "sound".

                              As far as your other problems. The "pk3" files go into QUAKE/ID1/ Darkplaces loads the pk3 files automatically. The 5 part texture .rars will need to be "unrar-ed" together and those will make 1 pk3 file, and that will also go into ID1. Just work on 1 at a time so you know if Darkplaces is loading up for sure. Ive seen 9 times out of 10 when something isnt working right usually its me thats screwing something up
