CRMOD logs do not store what has been typed, only server messages, scores, etc.

pq_logbinds 1, records all chat to logs. Works even in ProQuake server 3.50.

On by default in ProQuake Dedicated Ex 1.00 (the Windows build I released a couple of days ago).

I've looked into the log's, I don't see anything even banning anyone other then kimp's ip address. I just spent 2 hours this morning at home searching for all this garbage. As far as im concerned it's over with. He said she said, she said he said crap. I've told crow not to ban any longer, but he has every right to mute

Your new server engine has engine mute, which is more effective than CAx mute. Similar to ban. Even a tempmute option (30 minutes), and since the engine controls it disconnecting and reconnecting is of no use.

To Omi or the others who seem to think I'm trying to build a police state, nope --- this is so there are decent and effective alternatives other than ban. I think banning players sucks, if a particularly player's only "crime" is talking --- mute is more gentle, more fair. If a perma-mute player is on a server to play, it won't make much of a difference --- but if they only seek to harass --- and aren't actually that interested in playing --- there are plenty of servers to choose from. We have no shortage of servers.

There are, in fact, people who like to talk more than actually get to the business of playing. And these advances will allow server operators to better control the kind of environment they want on their servers.

There aren't so many, but I hope that info helps. That particular setting is poorly documented in ProQuake 3.50. What the rest of them do is rather obvious.
