      • Icaro do you need AD_lavatomb textures for your pack? Since Talisa made texture for Unforgiven and Something Wicked and that texture pack uses many of those texture I've compiled them in an archive, 2-3 textures are missing since they need to be done from scratch being quite difficult. If you think it's a worthy addition to your release I'll send you a PM with dropbox link.

            Sorry, no Nehara HD textures in this forum! ... and I'm not aware of any Nehara HD pack on the internet.

                      Well it was about to be very much official until it went unreleased for whatever reason. And it bears the Mission Pack 3 title. Which is still waaayyyy closer than AD will ever come to being official.

                      • The normal life

                        Is anyone doing normals for all these fancy HD textures? If there's a program to make normals from regular textures, I could do it myself.

                        Also, rtlights and .ent files would be great to complement these textures.

                          regarding normals:
                          BV included normals in a lot of his texture-packs, and most of icaro's texture-packs also include normal-maps

                          im afraid i am no normal-map creator myself so thats the reason why there arent any normals included with my packs except for the few textures that were given to me that included normals

                          and im afraid i also cant help out in that regard to pointing at programs to make normals

                          • I use Crazybump to create norm, but Nahuel made a Gimp plugin that makes norms too. About RTlights: A really big update is coming to most of the RTlights.

                              Thanks Talisa and BV for your replies, this is great! It's a bit underwhelming when you have flat textures next to bump-mapped ones, kinda ruins immersion.

                              Regarding .ent files, do you know if anyone's made/making any for custom maps and is there a thread for them? Actually, it would be a good idea to create one if there's none.

                              Talisa, I've been playing Something Wicked with QRP and your HD pack installed and though it's supposed to be complete, I've noticed some textures that are still low-res, notably floors. It's very apparent especially in some stairs where the raisers are HD but the steps are still low-res. Quid?

                              BV, I've read a bit on creating normal maps but apparently you need to build a high-detail 3D model of the textured surface/model you want to upgrade, then create the normal from that. The thing is, I don't know squat about 3D modeling and even if I did, I probably wouldn't feel like investing an insane amount of time and effort into this. Do Crazybump or Nahuel's plugin bypass that step and automate the process? If so, I could look into making normals for Talisa's awesome but otherwise desperately flat textures, but if not I'm screwed.

                              Funny thing, I've just visited your RTlights thread thanks to the link provided and I noticed you made some for DOPA. I was just about to upload .lits for it that I made using MHcolour, but your work is probably lightyears ahead in terms of quality and atmosphere. DLing it right now. Thanks a bunch!

                                missing textures? i made 100% sure that all textures are covered.


                                note that you are expected to have the texture-packs for quake AND both mission-packs by QRP present in either your ID1 or wicked folder.

                                any textures from quake and both mission-packs that are used in any maps are NOT INCLUDED in my texture-packs,
                                as it would be pointless to include those textures and it would only increase the file-size of the texture-packs
