Binding: Should Kimp be banned from the forums?

I’m still waiting for someone to post evidence of misbehavior from recent months…that proves Kimp is a trouble maker to the message board. Kimp is looking pretty clean right now…cause all I am seeing is the same old tired complaints and references that are not relevant to his most attractive turnaround. This lack of evidence underlines that Kimp is on a distinguished road…and he just got mugged.

This is a power struggle… The Boys Club is threaten by Kimp… and so they are trying to get Baker to dictate the scene… as if Baker doesn’t have enough to do. Baker can’t dictate the scene, cause he doesn’t have reach across servers… nor does he have enough un-bias communication that tells him what is going on outside his realm.

If you guys have a problem with Kimp, take it to someone who has control … the SysOp of your server… Leave Baker out of it… He can’t play Quake Czar for you… The Quake community doesn’t solely rest on QuakeOne.com…

If you want to talk about abuse, take a look at our forums now. The Boys Club is using the message board as a platform to oust people…. Including me, gay people, and other cultures of the internet… It’s chock full of bad language, misbehavior, and very offensive content. Kimp’s most recent behavior on these forums does not reflect this.

I would rather have Baker working on the things you, I, and he loves: Development of the Quake Clients and technologies. Listen to Baker as he says “I’m working on it”. He is at bat for us…he has an empathic ear… He is refining your game to fix all its loops and holes. Give me, Baker, yourself, and the forum readers a break from these petty complaints… What happens on the servers is relevant and controlled by the servers…not Baker.

A perfectly good DM Organizer is being thrown away because the Boys Club wants some type of perceived power. You want to get rid of Kimp? Wait for his next QuakeOne.com blunder…will there be one? Take your issues to someone who has control…cause the issue you are having doesn’t exist here at QuakeOne.com.

Master - I have no ulterior motives here other then I am sick of Kimp ruining games and acting negatively with no consequences. I didn't just wake up one day and think to myself, "Wow, i really want to get Kimp banned today." It was his actions a couple of days ago that precipitated this.

I don't think there is a "boy's club" trying to oust people. As far as I know, there is no discussion of trying to ban anyone else besides Kimp, as no one else deliberately trys to ruin other people's gaming experience. I think enough people have experienced this that it is evident his behavior is not a single incident, but on ongoing issue.

The reason I want him banned from both the servers and the message board is because he has been previously banned from both. On the message boards, he created a new alias but was not banned again after everyone figured out it was Kimp. On the servers, the ban was lifted.

My problem with him is that that he never learned from these experiences.

You are right that he has not acted negatively on the boards since he has come back, but this is still a community. It is a message board tried to a game. Consequences of acting out on one affect the other, imho.

That being said, I don't care if he is banned from the board anymore. I'm just glad that people are waking up to his continued poor behavior and attitude on servers and are banning from the servers. He was allowed to continue his shinanigans for far too long.

I agree that you're getting the same garbage over and over again as if it's new information and would add that the issue isn't the information's age but how to find a way to change Kimp's ongoing disruptive and antisocial behaviour. And it's not necessary for you to be persuaded until you make clear in your own mind what's credible and relevant in a question like this, because numerous others and I continue to give account about direct experience with Kimp's recently disruptive and antisocial behaviour. As you know that you haven't enquired with me or anyone else directly yet about detailed experiences with Kimp, you can simply understand how others might not find your objections credible, relevant, or persuasive.

If you should want your objections taken seriously at all, I would like to suggest you quickly act to enquire about the relevant details from credible witnesses so that you can prevent your objections from sitting amongst the same garbage pile as people have put this Kimp episode. Because everyone knows the difference between what's edible and garbage, eventually people dump the garbage and clean house.

Hi, yes, my name is static and i have been Kimp'd...

on multiple occasions...

at first i thought was just a new quaker, so i follow the invitation and proceed to 1 vs 1 on dm, so i disconnect from rq... connec t to dm and, the guy doesnt move, reply or anything, hmmm ok... back to rq, so he comes back in and wants me to go back.. LoL.. "NO"! enough bs...
over the next couple weeks, keeps connecting to rq and asking me to come to matches with him (back when he was impersonating Kermit) couple times i fell for it, but quickly realized, he dont play like Kermit...
if someone asks u something twice and u dont answer, u pretty much dont want to answer right ? not for kimp, nu-uh, he dont get it..
When i called it quits on kimp was when he impersonated Hydro Smoke, a good friend of mine, and called me by my first name, wanting to go to port 26001, this was back in june 09. (tsk tsk kimp)

I havent witnessed 80% of the BS kimp has pulled around quake1. Glad i didnt too.. But the shit ive seen is 20% too much..

p.s. If kimp doesnt get banned from the forums, what's to stop him from weaseling his way back into servers ?

The Boys Club� a clique of people who have been together for a while and influence their environment by their numbers and tenure. It is oftentimes exclusive, unfair, judgmental, and non yielding to change. People who are adopted into a Boys Club may not even realize it� until they are subjected to a situation that demonstrates that their group wields clout and bends opportunities to their favor� making the playing field for people outside their group struggle or fail at the same opportunities that should be equal.

The boys speak for themselves� they all have the something to say, no compassion for their peers outside the group, no optimism for change, and a one track mind. The very pillar of their argument is falling apart� and they know it� tooth and nail, they are denying that Kimp�s change has come� They need to dig up old soars to try and exploit anything they can. If they truly believed, in their hearts that Kimp can�t change�then what�s the panic about? It would only be a matter of time before Kimp strikes again� The problem is�Kimp has been a good-boy and has even earned respect and small following. The Boys Club resent this and feel they need to take action on him. The rot of their pillar is the truth� Kimp has changed, and it was witnessed by everyone for months� Kimp is the underdog (against all odds) who created a social group of his own�only to be stepped on by the Boys Club�all too eagerly and prematurely.

In this debate, the Boys Club try to bring in weapons from other arenas that simply don�t work� They argue red faced that Kimp destroys their games� And they claim to have proof. The arena they battle Kimp in is not a game server� it is a message board� Kimp is smelling like roses �and they are all sweating heavy. Kimp proved himself already, on the message board, that he is a mature and competent contender on the forums� That is why he was granted passive-social clemency from his past allegations. Whether announced or not�it was acknowledged, just by his continued operation up until he was stabbed in the back. His lively and successful threads for DMT are riddled with hate and discontent from the Boys Club� Kimp, again, smelling like roses, didn�t blink an eye to the monster staring him in the face. Not an utterance of hate or defiance you can find on his posts.

One has to stand back and say� who am I catering to? Do I want to cater to a group of biggets who think and practice hateful behavior? Or do I want to encourage constructive development of the scene? Every time there is a mishap out in game-server-ville, do we need to have a court case to determine a fate of a functional QuakeOne.com member?

I still don't understand your boy's club comments. If Kimp's actions were not egregious and support was raised to ban him without any real reason, then I would agree with you.

I also do not understand how you can ignore pages and pages of first hand testimonials (and Mass's demos). Do you think we are all lying? Do you think Mass fabricated that demo?

His behavior is obviously not a thing of the past as multiple people that don't even really talk to each other have reported incidences just in the last week.

I think the fundamental disagreement we are facing here is that you do not believe he should be banned from the message boards while I do. I think he should be accountable for his actions whether on a server or message board. He should not be allowed the privilidge of posting to this message board if he is going to act so poorly to his fellow quakers on a server.

You are just making shit up now and possibly projecting your feelings into the minds of others. I, for one, do not care if he is the most popular guy ever with a huge quake following. Who would care about something like that?

What are your motives in all this then? Do you even know Kimp that well? You could have just said that you feel Kimp is an asset to the community and should be unbanned. Instead you make baseless accusations calling into question people's reasons behind this move.

It seems to me that you feel that there is some kind of boys club bs that is working against you for some reason and that's why you are so ready to critisize.

This may not be the case, but please don't make a post dedicated to how you think that I think and I will refrain from doing the same.
