    Mindz, MVP SO WHAT.

Handling via PM's would have solved nothing. You can see here Frenzy is very stubborn about the incident. At least now I have brought it into the light. Others can make their own decisions (IF THEY WANT TO).

I openly and publicly welcome Mindz into the MVP smack talkers association group LTD., inc.

    DK, you have given up.

I will fight for you though.

FYI, here are the current leaders of quakeone:
QuakeOne - Quake 1 Resurrection - Show Groups

    I'll add this as well.

One thing I learned a while back about being a leader (mindz, frenzy, ..):
The more you act as a leader, the more people you'll get that disapprove of what you do. Leaders that have no enemies are the leaders that don't act at all, but then are they really leaders?

        Magnus------
You must have been on auto-pilot all those days I pissed you off by banning kimp.I don't have a lack of administration, and definately step on toes when it comes to getting shit done.it just only occurs when it NEEDS to occur. My style admin is very different from others. I'm happy to report that I haven't seen kimp in quite some time, and I do my best to continue that white-whale hunt, even in his absense !!!

        Muller -------
        From? No. hahah

I'm from a town named Marion, after this guy Francis Marion - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

I live in a town named Saucier. It's pronounced "So Sure". It's really really close to the water, that is all I know about it.
        haha. THE MORE YOU KNOW

Hmmm..have you even tried this Magnus? Sounds a bit like a cop-out to me. I can assure you I HAVE made up my mind on this issue. I agree with Mindf!, I've spent too much time on this issue.
            Good day!

new kids on the block? HEHE. I remember you showing up being total noob

When you expect 1 admin to admin ANOTHER admin, yes, do it through a PM. If all you want is bitching and public defacing to occur, then this definately is your VENUE of choice.

This is kind of a neat post. But isn't really true. Maybe of corporate sites with zombie slave user bases, but even then I doubt it.

The site has a purpose which is to maximize the health of the game Quake for what can be done in the current environment. And there is no specific route to that goal, but to obtain the objective:

                1. Attract a sustainable amount of web traffic to keep influx of users, talent and an audience. (We do this in spades.)
                2. Promote interesting works and developments. This fuels interest and accumulates an atmosphere.
                3. Let anyone belong to and participate in the community in whatever aspect they like.
                4. Acknowledge and grant access to resources for developers and key community contributors and encourage it.
                5. Identify individuals with no interest that aligns with the community and impair them. One example, spammers. Super rude behavior like attacking newbies. Users childishly posting porn in the forums when they get upset and requiring too much admin attention.

It really is more of meritocracy than anything else. People that help (*) a great deal are acknowledged and given extra abilities to help and greater trust.

(*) Help is an interesting concept. Wanting to help or trying to help isn't the same as actually making a difference. This is where skills and resources come into the equation, with skills always being favored over resources, with dedication being favored over both. One example, it is obvious that, for example, R00k's ability to both engine code and write and maintain mods like CTF or CAx puts him on a higher tier than someone hosting a server, plus the fact he has been a long-time contributor.
Quakeone.com - Being exactly one-half good and one-half evil has advantages. When a portal opens to the antimatter universe, my opposite is just me with a goatee.

So while you guys all have to fight your anti-matter counterparts, me and my evil twin will be drinking a beer laughing at you guys ...

Hey Mindzx. Is that Marion Alabama? The reason I ask is that my wife went to Marion Military Institute for a few years.

nope Marion Va, when we met I was living in the next town over (Chilhowie Va)..

                      * A little something to remember:
Everyone always like the "person in charge" while they can be just "one of the guys", & No one likes that same person when they "have to take care of buiness" .

If true, spending time thinking about the imaginary problem is a waste of time and thinking about imaginary solution is a path to nowhere.

And some people will try to draw you into their wild goose chase looking for the completely, absolutely super-perfect world. Which doesn't exist.

Now ... if I know such a place doesn't exist, but if you think it does ... that's not my problem, that's YOUR problem. And no matter how many times you insist this magically super-perfect place exists, it still doesn't exist.

And it still isn't my problem.

The solution to your imaginary problem: "The world isn't perfect, somewhat close to perfect is as good as it gets. If you try for more than that, you actually make the world less perfect in the process because in an attempt to worry about things you can't do much about, you are neglecting something else, hence not actually improving the situation but worsening it."

Don't let your life --- or even your mind-share --- be dominated by such petty, insignificant non-issues of trivial substance.

Hence, I used the phrase "You are majoring in the minors."
There is no imaginary problem. It's a real problem with no real solutions... that doesn't make it imaginary. It's just not going to go away, that's the way we are as humans.

As for DM3... yeah, I see that as a problem. Others see it as a problem that other maps besides DM3 even exist. I'll keep fighting the good fight on that one.

I'd still like to see that thread moved back Baker.

There was nothing out of line with that thread that required completely removing it from public view.
