TFC Results July 30th, 1999 Zodiac Braves hatchet Hate Inc
ZB vs HATE. This was the first real acid test for ZB. Round one was played on HATE's server on Rock, with them sporting an obvious ping advantage. We moved on and started to play. HATE got off fast with various touches with the ZB defense stopping them a couple of times before they finally broke through and got a cap. Various other battles for the flag ended without any more caps. Round one was hard fought by both, but HATE came up on top 1 cap to ZB's 0. Round two, which was also took place on HATE's server was played on Darkness. ZB started off the scoring before HATE could get it out. Constant battles to touch the flag were plentiful with both teams pulling in a decent amount of caps. This time, ZB came on top with a score of 30 to 22. Having each won one map, we moved into overtime. Like the previous two, this was played on HATE's server. Pings seemed to settle down for us, which was to much celebration. ZB and HATE both got the flag off the start and brought home a cap to bring it to one all. ZB's offense worked hard, broke through their d and brought home another cap. Not to be outdone, HATE's offense poured on the pressure. One more cap was brought in by ZB while HATE managed two more to bring it to 3 all. Having little time left, the ZB offense worked with precision and and managed to squeak out the last cap. ZB managed to pull off the win, but not without a tough fight fought by HATE. Thanks for the good game hate, good luck in the future. Clan Destine bops Necromancers
The first match was pretty even, but [C-D] got off to a quick start. [NM] held [C-D] to only 70 the first match, but [C-D]'s defense really came through to hold [NM] to 20. The second match, [NM] lost one player early on, and then apparently another dropped sometime during the game, leaving it 7 vs. 5. [C-D] really started out strong again, and was able to cap quickly. Kudos to [NM], who really rocked with their offense, scoring 90 points shorthanded. [NM] played great and it was a pleasure to play them, especially after the faisco on Monday night. [CD] had a very coordinated offense and defense, and held it together thoughout both maps. Great match [NM], and we are excited to play you again down the road! July 28th, 1999 Total Harmonic Destruction can't find Six Feet Under
Six Feet Under never showed after they asked us to move the match to 10 pm so they could all make it. This kind of thing is happening way too much these days. Coup de Grace exposes Project X

This was another exciting evening spent with a class team. We were a little slow to start off the match, and MaQ gained an early lead, however we settled into our groove and starting catching up, eventually overcoming the stiff resistance from MaQ to win the first match. We started the second match off strongly, however MaQ managed to hold us back more successfully this time, while also managing several caps. But |CA| managed to pull things out and we scored several caps towards the end of the second match. GG MaQ, can't wait till next time.

It was a fun match...The first round went pretty smooth for us considering it was our first match on RUN.DOA put up a good fight but we were able to prevail. Second round was a continueation of the first with RTL getting the nesaccary caps to lead uas to victory.DOA players started to leave about midweay thru the round and I believ they finisged with only 4 or 5 guys. For those that stuck around...good game. Clan Erinyes evades Black Sun
Rd 1 Started on Comedians house of TFC on the Well, pings were decent all around. Rd started with some probing attacks by both clans with the first cap going to the CE offense. Rasta was able to keep their offense at bay out front while Gate/Ram and our engineer held the interior. Eventually the Black Sun O made advances and rasta fell back, where our engineer picked up the new line of defense. Meanwhile the CE offense kept up the onslaught of caps. Several Black Sun offense made it into our Flag room only to be taken out by Gate or Rasta. Final score rd 1 was 11-0 CE. RD 2 moved to a server provided by MSG. Where pings were not too shabby... though many people on the west coast were in excess of 18 hops from the server even tho it's loacted in Colorado so we're told. At anyrate, we knew this was going to be a hard map to cap on and that it was, the CE offense (as many as 6 at one point) was only able to get touches, while the CE defense kept their offense from seeing the flag room much. Rd ended with no caps for either clan. RD 3 moved back to Comedians and for some reason pings were high, after some mucking around we decided to move back to MSG, doh it's down, so we moved to the good ol' Huggie Changer and played, both teams pinging fairly equally. The rd started with a quick push by the CE o detting the mine and flooding with scouts. Black Sun fielded more defense than normally seen on rock2 which held our offense at bay for quite some time. Eventually after our first cap our engineer went o to help clear pipes with emps and eventually a soldier from d pulled to o bringing in the second cap for CE. Followed by another quick grab by the CE offense. Black Sun made a rush for our key about 17-18 minutes into the game getting a touch but Ramrod and Bacchus were able to hold them. CE pulled down 2 more caps for a final score of 4-0 for rd 3. Overall score 15-0 in favor of CE. As always a fun game from Black Sun and look forward to playing them again.

Besides being handed our walking sticks, it was an awsome match. What can I say. Round 1, they totaly walked all over us. Round 2 was strange to say the least. And round 3 was a pure frag fest. This was our third time playing against CE and hopefully will not be our last. We learn something new everytime we play them. Thanks for a great game guys! July 27th, 1999 Gods of Hate topple U Suck
This was one of the best clashe that could ever happen on well. I say this because we are against conc. jumpers and we prefer to brawl. We only had 2 medics max at a time. The game started out on there server. Pings we pretty equal. Boths sides were holding strong. We began to alternate flag caps until it was 3 to 3 in the closing minutes. Our offense got the flag into ramp room and it was all over then. A constant touch for 3 minutes until it was in our yard. Our medic ran it back for the score and we prayed to God he wouldn't stop for a resupply. We capped in last 3 seconds of match for a score 4-3. !@*#! unreal. The second match we were really pumped for. It was on our server. Then when US showed up and outpinged us to our own server we decided to put an extra man on defense. That was a blessing since US sent 5 medics conc. jumping at once to our pipe enterance. Our 2 hwguys were waiting and cut them apart. The offense was hurt by losing a man, but we still pulled down 2 caps for a score of 2-1. GG to US they are very good, and very well equiped with ping power. Beware of these cj lpbs ;). 30+ canes Talking Goats
The first 30+ STA match with Clan [TG] was a hard fought battle, in all THREE rounds. Thats right, in the end it was a short roung of sudden death that decided the victor. The first round saw clan 30+ go down by two caps, Clan[TG] was on a roll, but in the second round the old farts rallied to tie it up. The sudden death round was short but exciting as Clan[TG] dropped the flag in the water tunnel about one minute into it. Clan 30+ also had the flag on the ground, and it would pass through every offensive player's hand before finally being capped by Chopper[30+] breaking the tie. -------
Can you beleive this, The Talking Goats TIED a match. Unheard of, The Goats never Tie matches, yeah right. Well after all the rule issues that the goats ran into with the OGL, there first match after quiting the OGL ends up in a TIE. Was this a problem? Not at all. The STA rules then called for a Sudden Death round. The night came to a quick end (about 2 or 3 minutes into the Sudden Death round) with 30+ getting the first capture. WIN - 30+ in Sudden Death 30+ are a class act and a going to be a great addition to the STA. I wasn't playing in this match as we got a few of our new guys involved but I really enjoyed hanging out in 30+ chat channel on Gamesnet with their spares. I can't wait to meet up with these guys again.
Hate Inc vaccinates Epidemic
So gosh darn it, aye! Let's talk about the match shall we? They tied us the first round, then we kicked their bootie kabootie the second round. Now lets talk about all the cow-excretion! If you ever have to play this clan, make sure they dont try and play on a "server" that's on adsl with all the wrong server settings. Wasted a bunch of time between maps because of all this crap. Even had to ask tres to intervene, what a bunch of poopoo! The list goes on, players of theirs asking to join our clan during prematch... classic kangaroo ca ca! Have an unpleasant day. -------
This was a great test for us as it was the first time we played a "Top" Clan. We held tight and I was very proud of how we played. The first match was truely a "nailbiter" as [Hate] took the lead and we battled back each time. We had the flag coming home for the winning cap, but time expired. The second match was quite different. One of our members decided to quit mid-match and was shooting our defense. This confusion allowed [Hate] to get 2 quick caps. We adjusted and held tight once again, then we had a player drop. Anyway, we were playing short a man, and with a member shooting us. This proved fatal as [Hate] jumped all over the oppertunity to cap. Their medics came in so hard that it seemed they we respawning in our base. Hehe. No excuses here, [Hate] deserved the win. We fell apart due to some internal conflict and there is no way to win vs. a strong clan like [Hate] when that happens. Experience and poise go a long way in these matches. Good Game. We definatly can't wait to try our luck again. Black Sun sets on Digital Resurrection
What a match! Clan BlackSun would like to thank the guys are DiRe for one great match. All 3 rounds where played on DiRe's server and latency was pretty even. Round 1 started out fast as we managed an early cap, because DiRe was not prepared for our rush. But then there defense set in as there offense started running laps around our defense, resulting in 6 straight caps. Then our defense dug in and stopped them as our offense squeked by their awsome defense for 3 more unacounted for caps. Due to the ammount of fun we were having, no one relized that the time setting was set incorectly so the match was ended apon noticing the problem. Final 60 Dire - 40 BlackSun Round 2 once again started out fast, but this time there offense grabed the first cap. Then the battle began. We managed to take the lead at 40 - 30 only to have them cap once more. Our offense, knowing they needed 2 caps to tie and 3 to win, turned up the heat and managed another cap at the same time there offense was, 50 BlackSun - 40 Dire. Knowing that time was drawing near, we pulled one of our defense off and went with a 5 man offense and brought the flag home one more time. Final 60 BlackSun - 40 DiRe Round 3 (DiRe was down 1 man) begand with a all out rush by DiRe, but expecting that, we set up a 7 man Defense to stop there rush. As this was taking place, our 8th man went in undetected to get the flag out of their flag rome, not once but twice. As Dire continued to pure on the rush, we started sending more and more members on offense. Mech was able to sneak in and toss the flag out of the sniper deck, leading to one hell of a frag fest to the final cap. 10 BlackSun - 00 DiRe This was an awsome match! DiRe played outstanding and with allot of energy. Even though the score doesn't show it, "Everyone won tonight!" We now know that we need to be ready for them the next time. :) And look forward to every chance we get to play them in the future! ! Total Harmonic Destruction battles Cybertron Warriors
This is why we play TFC. 2 fun games with great sportsmenship on both sides and not a single problem. The first round was on CW's server. THD took an early lead but CW wasn't about to give up. They used some cunning spies and good conc jumping to cap on us several times and battled back into the game. CW's defense was solid and the THD offense couldn't get into the groove. THD narrowly escapes with the 5-4 win. Round 2 moved to our home turf on the Go Bucks server. We made some adjustments on defense and they worked like a charm. The match started slowly with both clans having difficulty capping. THD's offense finally busted the door open and started capping one right after the other. After CW fell down about 5 to 0 they switched to almost all offense. They basically left the flag unguarded and the THD offense took advantage. CW sent 6 to 7 guys at our D for most of the second half of the game and could only come away with 1 cap. Final for round 2 was 12 to 1 in favor of THD. CW is a very good clan. Great attitude, great server and lots of fun to play. GG CW. Cogent Alliance outthinks Mind Over Matter
This was an excellent game. The first match started off strong on both sides... but we managed to sneak out a few caps, even with a very persistant demoman in the oval supply room. The second match, we both fielded 9 people, and let's just say there was much chaos in the begining. After some extremely persistant attempts at the flag, both sides actually capped within seconds of each other, with the rest of the match spent in stabs at each others flag with no success... A very tense match and very enjoyable.
100k.devil.legion not done against WOLF
After having some server problem which delayed Sunday's match by an hour, both teams agreed to continue the game on Monday at the same time. On Monday, we were pleased to see that the players pings were much better as with the overall server performance. Unfortunately for our team, we again were short one player, but decided to continue with 7v8. The first round started off with a quick cap by our team as our defense setup and dug in. WOLF kept a consistant flow of soldiers incoming to our base via water tunnel and front door throughout the match. They nicely change their flow from streams to chuncks of incoming soldiers, medics, and a few scouts. This gave our defense fairly consistant pressure to hold steady and fight hard. In fact, it seemed that everytime I respawned and left our base there were 2 or more enemy soldiers piling through our front doors. That was solid. On offense, our team was able to move the enemy flag with shrewd maneuvering and consistant yet diverse attacks. Special thanks to [100k.d.l]shock who played an aggressive offender throughout both rounds.
In the second round, WOLF came out (I felt) with a little less offensive pressure but a more stalwart defense. Our first attempts at a quick cap was thwarted by defending soldiers. However after a few minutes of pressure, we were able to extract the flag and return to our base. At this time, WOLF's defense thickened as it successfully stopped our repeadeted offensive flag attempts.
Overall, I would like to thank WOLF for a very intense game and for their sportsmanship. WOLF put up an excellent fight and I would enjoying playing them again in a match or scrimmage. Thanks gentlemen and good luck.
-BTW, (again) Hats off to our defense for a solid game and excellent team work. Your communication was top-notch along with the ability to change strategies on the fly. ][nsurrection describes their match with KiN
Ok that was a hell of a match vs kin here's my version of the story: We faced kin again and this time a little more prepaird for the skill that they would throw at us. ][ d setup was strong putting our best men on the feild. Kin did the same. The match started and both teams started with a rush. The ][ o pulled out a early cap with Demize throwing the flag down and Predator grabbing it and running all the way home with it. The ][ d held off kin's o for a while. ]['s o started moving thier flag again but kin stomped us at every attempt. Then we lost a o player and couldn't keep up the pressure. At the same time kin moved our flag to the front door. They threw every bloody body they had at that flag fighting it all the way. The ][ d killed and killed till they couldn't kill anymore and kin's o halled ass back to thier cp. ]['s o brough out our trusty medic/sniper man 8ball to fill for janus who was having net probs. ][ started moving kins flag again but the game ended 1-1. Round 2:
That was a hell of a game kin GG!
July 26th, 1999 Kollectiv assimilates Digital Resurrection
For Kollektiv, this was another enjoyable match with a great clan. Round one started out with Kollektiv in the red corner and Digital Resurection in the blue corner. Kollektiv started caping the flag early in the game, catching Digital Reurection defense off guard. Quickly they began to build and strengthen their deffense, making it much harder for Kollektiv's offense to penetrate; thereby slowing the number of caps. Digital Resurection's offense was able to move the flag out of Kollektiv's base for one cap during the game. Second round was played on Kollektiv's server as was the first, due to Digital Resurection haveing server problems. Second round started out with Kollektiv not having things organized as a few of their members had technical difficulties. Digital Resurection started out with an early cap. The Kollektiv got their defense in place and organized. Digital Resurection lost a member in the match and Kollektiv began caping the flag toward the end of the round. We commend Digital Resurection on a game well played, it was a pleasure and look forward to future games with them. Clan Erinyes fends off clan Maylstryx
Rd 1 took place on Comedians House of TFC. Rd Started by a quick touch by cM followed by a cap by CE, then both defenses settled in. Eventually the CE offense foudn the weakness in the cM defense and kicked into high gear, while the cM offense kept plugging away at the CE defense with some success. The cM offense was able to pull out 3 caps while the CE O brought in 12. Final rd 1 12-3. RD 2 moved to cM's Beer server. The CE defense made some minor adjustments while the offense did the same. cM this rd sported some spies and more scouts proving somewhat successful, pulling out 4 caps while the CE offense brought in 4 of their own after some stumbling. Final score rd 2 4-4. Overall score 16-7 in favor of CE, as always an enjoyable game from cM and we look forward to playing them again in the future.
Kindred woops it up with ][nsurrection
We had the pleasure of facing another class clan. We have faced ][ before in STA. KiN going agaisnt another great clan on the map they hate the most, Well. r1 started on their server, ][ with a great defense with skilled demomem at the entrances. KiN's O managed to rough out 1 cap as did ][ leaving it right where they started, a tie at 1-1. KiN switched out a couple of players to make r2 more intersting. KiN stuck with the same d, but switched out some guys to make it more intersting. With the score being tied both clans decided to come out with guns blazing as a host of scouts and demos came out of each side. how ever things started to settle and the real fun had begun. KiN, learning much after thier bout with [CE], decided to send in the demos to try and clear out some room for the scouts. They kept up a relentless attack with soldier blazing rockets and pipes abound. After the smoke cleared and the clock stopped it was KiN-4 ][-3. As always it was a fun one with this clan. Fast paced action until the end with good sportsmanship all around. We had a fun time with this match and squeaked it out by 1 cap. I hope that all the clans are having games like this. Games with good play, good sports, and good caps. It is the only thing that is going to make this league last. These guys will be around for awhile, and for the next clan they play... i hope you eat your wheaties.
Coup de Grace outslugs Agression Rangers
Clan CdG and AR slugged it out on the MSG server, first time for AR, and second time for CdG. With predominantly east coast members from both clans, the pings were roughly even on the server, however not as good as we're used to on our own servers. Playable though, I think all would agree. The first round went very smoothly, lots of Well jumpers from both clans, AR sported a fine pair of offense medics who made off with the CdG flag any number of times. By the end of round1 though, the CdG jumpers took the enemy flag out one more time than AR. Round2 started quickly, with early caps by both clans. One more cap by AR, and the prematch bug kicked in - these MSG servers missing maintenance?? The round continued, and CdG adapted their defense to the aggressive AR offense, and it held better r2, with CdG taking 2 more caps than AR, bringing the final score to 10 - 7. Thx to our excellent opponents, and thx to MSG for the server for the night. U Suck nullifies Null
Another good clan to add to the list of the great sportmanship and playing ability clans... 1st round was fast with there offense usingg heavy guys and doing gren and pipe jumps up to toss rocks at our defense that was up top and holding tight! Our offense managed to get there flag up and moving constantly keepinghtere defense off balance and moving it little by little to bring home the caps....2nd round they changed up there classes a big and setup a new plan that towards the end of the game was paying off but by them it was too much to a offensive come back going...Great Battle Null,GG. Hate Inc downs Evil Dead
Welp we were waiting, and waiting, and had been told by ED that they weren't going to have enough players to play the match. Forfeit, ok so... whatever... we invite to play anyway, what da hell, its already a pain in the ass sometimes to get everyone together so, play on. The score is irrelevant cuz we had our full complement of 8 and they had 4 then 5, then 4 again then 5. So to continue on, they are under the impression that they get another chance at a league match the 2nd map, which of course is ridiculous to consider since we didn't even have to stick around for the first one. Welp, we were gonna play again, and they said they couldnt find the server admin, even those someone was typing in the console, and he said 'i dunno about prematch' or something, or that they got six members now and they had some sort of 15 minutes for something, who knows what... as if any number or schedule had any relevance to the matter at hand... Because since not all showed on time, we freaking wasted it doing nuthing but crap. Cool huh. hate gets a stupid ass forfeit from Evil Dead. Total Harmonic Destruction attacks Army of Darkness
Round 1 was on THD's Go Bucks server with good pings all around. We were looking forward to this match after our fun scrimmage with AOD last week. Our offense came out of the gates and capped quickly. The defense was able to get settled in and stopped the AOD attack cold in their tracks. We were able to cap fairly consistently until the end of the round when AOD put more guys on D. Again there was a problem with everyone dying mid way through the first round. The kills and caps were reset. Both clans played on and there wasn't any problems or complaints. Final for round 1 was 70-0 in favor of THD. Round 2 was on AOD's server. There was severe lag and packet loss problems for both teams. We got off to an early lead but AOD fought back and kept it close. They were only down 1 cap for most of the second round. Our offense pulled out some clutch caps later in the match and the D held strong. Final for round 2 was 60-30 in favor of THD. AOD was great sports as usual and we had fun playing them. Despite some problems with the servers, neither team complained or bitched...and that is a nice change :-) Bitchslap can't find Bringers of Great Pain
None of them were online at all. CompWorld Frag Force frags Special Defense Unit
SDU started with 5 guys and then went to six, while CWFF started out with 7 and stayed that way. SDU gave their best but couldn't overcome superior numbers...especially in the second round when they lost one of their players and went back to 5. CWFF made strong offensive surges and kept a strong defense up keeping SDU away from the flag. Cybertron Warriors pass through Double Wide
Double Failed to show up at the proper time. I wish that they would of showed we were looking forward to the match. July 25th, 1999 100k.devil.legion creeps up on Creeping Death Clan
For our match, CDC provided a neutral server that offered a very equal spread in pings. Playing shorthanded, we were able to pull a quick lead in both maps while maintaining our offensive momentum. CDC played an honorable game and was a very hospitible host for our clan match. Thanks gentlemen and good luck. -BTW Hats off to our defense for a superb game. |
