      • Hey, Rook. I just wanted to say "Thanks!"

I have video mode changing almost perfected in ProQuake and I have to say a lot of the most difficult enhancements I've added would not have been possible without using Qrack as a model.

As soon as I get the code all nice and pretty and the handful of remaining issues worked out to completion, I'll be more than happy to port the R&D of some of the tricky things I've worked on (international keyboard, automatic 8 button mouse support with and without dinput, etc.)
Quakeone.com - Being exactly one-half good and one-half evil has advantages. When a portal opens to the antimatter universe, my opposite is just me with a goatee.

So while you guys all have to fight your anti-matter counterparts, me and my evil twin will be drinking a beer laughing at you guys ...

          woot Patty-cake-patty-cake BAKEr's DA Man!

Ya my all consuming life keeps me down- though I seem to find time for the finer things of Quake er life...

But ya community is bleek and its back to us players to produce features for now and future players.... here and around the globe+

I'm holding off my QrackLE project, (basically, Qrack-L.ite E.dition was geared to openGL 1.3+), cause uPQ is pretty much going down the same route. On the note of revamping the texture loader, can you add 24-bit support? (tga/png/jpg)... unless its already there. Also, interpolation. I think your compilation has exactly what is geared to the online Quake gamer, and i hope to contribute where i can.

Really the only thing I'm trying to do is to get ProQuake to do what it currently does, but easier. And I'm almost done too.

I had interpolation in there, I can add that in quick enough.

I might split off into something not called ProQuake that uses external textures, but remember ... ProQuake's rendering is like GLQuake's. Which is sort of obsolete. But I don't want to change the rendering, I just want to keep it as is.

              • ik the skyscroll is suppose to reflect colors of other skies and all that. but just do purple and blue. we have the skybox.cfg anyways

also, on maps that have stars in the sky..its kind of silly to have it replaced with a black sky with clouds. please r00k =]

                • Here's an idea: This April you brought us Quake showers, now how about some snow flurries this winter.

                  Is that doable?

                    • I played with Qrack. 1.84 seems to be working great. However, when I exit quake, my screen is very bright...

Hmm. I have noticed this on my dual monitor setup, but never bothered to mention. My second monitor's desktop was also too bright when I would exit Qrack. Then I played with some settings (don't remember which) and now when I exit, it's too dark.

I don't think it's just Qrack, though. I think at least enhancedGL does it, too.

Do you have an ATI card? The Radeon Hardware gamma ramp has an issue with OpenGL games. Upon exiting, you will notice it does not reset. You may have to use the setgamma program each time you exit any older OpenGL game. When my last Radeon card got old, I switched to Nvidia - because I was tired of ATI not fixing this problem. ATI doesn't seem to care about problems users are having with older games...

                            • I also have dual monitors, and if I want to use both while playing, I'll use a -window'ed mode.. I do plan on adding multi-monitor support sometimes I preferplaying a quick game on my lcd other times I want to use my CRT, but it would be easier just to select a monitor in the vid options...

I think the gammafix.exe should work for the time being...

                              • hey r00k, is there a way to adjust the screen flashing on item pickups in Qrack. I just noticed that Qrack's item-pickup flash is different than glpro. It's much more subtle in glpro.

                                Also, what does v_dlightshift do?
