    I tried the latest release from the qrack site today on my laptop, feedback:
    -Console does not appear by pressing the usual key, I have to use the menu
    -The shiny blingbling () font is pretty much unreadable. I might have been using a small resolution but I think it was 1024x768
    -The contrast was at 2.0 making bright things like the door on e1m1 become a washed-out white mess.
    -The gamma was at 1.0 but seemed like what normally would be ~0.7. Might have been an illusion.

    • Not so much a bug:
      In start map where you are in the hall leading to the four dimensions, if you turn on the flares, you will notice that the flares of the torches are reflected on the floor, as if the floor is a mirror.

      For this reason I usually turn the flares off. Though in other maps I haven't noticed anything similar to this yet.

        yes, this is a known bug, and MH has lessoned me on a path to fix this

          turn OFF cl_gun_fovscale.. set it to 0. Otherwise it scales the gun model to same as fov 90....at different FOV values...!

            • More bugs

              -The engine crashes ("encountered a problem and needs to close") if there is a fog field in worldspawn.

              -If scr_sshot_type is set to "tga" the number in the filename is not incremented, ie it overwrites the previous screenshot all the time.

                • time/date/ for screenshot filenames?

                  Hi Rook!

                  Would you please consider adding a date/time/map filename format for screen shots in Qrack?

                  Alternatively would you consider speeding up the current way Qrack makes screen shots so that the first screen shot is faster? For example if I have fifty screen shots in the qrack\screenshots folder, the first screen shot I take takes 4 or 5 seconds for Qrack to take (client locks up completely), then the subsequent ones are quick. Then if I close Qrack and re-launch it, again the first one is even slower because there are more screen shot files for it to sort. Maybe there is a faster way to sort them?

                  • ya it might be a system thing cause i dont get too much problems, try archiving some of those screenshots to another folder if you get > 100?

                    • Thanks Rook. I have no idea what could be causing this issue to be 'system specific.' I have the path to quake as d:\quake1\qrack\ It's an NTFS drive of 177GB (formatted) capacity. There are a lot of files on the drive but mostly in different folders.

                      My d:\quake1 folder is 3.37GB and is 2,802 files in 92 folders. But when I remove all the screen shot files from the qrack\screenshot folder, immediately the symptom disappears.

                      Anyone else experiencing Qrack lockups on the first screen shot when there are screen shots in the screen shot folder? I'm not saying 100+ but even 30+ it starts to slow down a lot.

                      • I wonder what happend to the Linux version? Last (?!) was 1.60.1 (not sure about this). Will there be any future Linux releases?
