No, I just try to keep track of various engine releases and noticed that the source for Qrack was lagging behind.

this vwep idea for Quake dates back to maybe 1997. with this mod!

which includes crouching, footsteps, as well as pieces of rock or something that comes out of walls or floors when you shoot. only problem is, there is a player model with a gun for each weapon! of course you can go on Quakeworld with ezQuake and see vweps on this server!

there might be others, but this one is the most popular.

now as for vwep on netquake or an addon for Qrack. idk. the gun which represents all weapons(what I call the universal cannon) will always be fun, because its like a guessing game and makes it more interesting. I can see vwep at someone point on NetQuake though

vwep support is EASILY available in mods that support them. It's as simple as precaching the proper models, and using them in the mod. I attempted this client-side in the engine but lost support for team colors in the process. So I abandoned the feature, until a later time. I'm currently upgrading my entire system so, I'm not REALLY here, just touching base...
