Ramp, I'm going to give everyone the benefit of the doubt at first. The only way to get new players into ctf is to allow them to play and learn on the go. Krix is good at quake, if you are good at other forms of quake it doesn't take long to become decent at ctf. For example, Cincere didn't play ctf until recently and he has already become a really solid ctfer.
I'm sure out of the 30 or so who are signed up right now a few won't work out, so I'm trying to figure out a way to fix that problem on the go, once it happens.

im ok with an alternate 3 as long as evereyone gets to play (cuz I wouldnt get to in that scenario)
Trades, we would need to make sure that trades can only be b/w people of the same tier. (no trading tier 1 for tier 2, etc...). I also think there should be a big reason to allow a trade as well, not just ("I like him more"). Specifically, people who really do not get along...
I do not think anyone really hates each other here. I mean... me and frenzy aren't best of friends, but we would probably still play together.Cbuf_AddText (va("say ZeroQuake GL version 1.10\n"));

Just a note about the team creation, the HDZ server has been logging the end game stats for each match for the last several yearsSometimes the log files get bloated > 40mb and I have to restart the server to keep things running smooth. I dont think i have time to create a log parser for the stats but maybe providing some logs for the tournament admins might help decide the structure for each tier...

Due to the fact we are playing once a week with 28 people, everyone will need server time especially if it's a 3 game match, so 3v3 makes more sense. The maps are also more so 3v3 friendly than they are 2v2. Only 2-3 maps are 2v2 built but for the most part CTF is a 3v3 or 4v4 man game.
There are some people who signed up that I don't suspect will even play once, such as Krix. Krix never plays CTF and I can't see a reason why he'd start for a tournament. I do not believe he even knows the maps, nor how to hook. You may have to cancel out some of these signups to ensure the quality of playing is higher.
The stats will be good, but lets be honest, some of us have been playing CTF so regularly that we know who the tier players are.
I like the 3v3 idea, CD you and I need to talk on more than just the server
And as for asking you guys to send me messages about your info, here is the reason why:
This makes things a lot more organized, and easy for me to get things rolling.Last edited by Frenzy; 08-04-2008, 04:57 PM.uake

I like the 3x3 idea. 2x2 would be ok but 3x3 will be better. Also one game a week is too little! Here's an idea:
Let's say there are 6 teams: Montreal, New York, Chicago, Philly, Boston, Toronto
Say the next two games for my team Montreal would be against New York and Chicago, I would be incharge of getting in touch with my players and the NY and Chicago players and organize a time in the week to get the best of 3 game over with. Every team should play 2 games a week (whenever is most suitable for them, but it must be agreed on by the two captains). Like this, by the end of the week every team will have played two games which I think could be better. (just an idea)

I'm not against two games a week if it doesn't become overwhelming for those people who are only free on the weekends. Take for example visine. I'm glad he's in the league, because he's one of the better players and that makes for good competition, but he's usually only able to play on the weekends. When vis's team is playing he has a limited schedule to play the match, which leaves the team he's playing with that equally small window. If we can get it to work out I'm cool with the idea. I'm just trying to avoid putting too much on people's plates, because that's when they stop playing and the league becomes inactive and eventually dead.
