If you're a competitve person, as I am, it's hard to accept defeat - even in a video game. I think we all know where I'm going with this.

That being said, we've been objective and fair in our effort thus far, let's continue the whistle blowing in an objective manner.

Gather evidence, get feedback, blow whistle.

As soon as we start making accusations without evidence, we hurt the community.

Just think of how many players at Shmack can easily be convinced that someone who is just a couple of levels above average is botting.

I want to correct this common misconception. Bot accusations fly freely on shmack, but they are not made seriously; they are just part of the server culture and a part of the game. When i first started playing shmack a lot, the accusations pissed me off, maybe for about a year and a half. then i realized theyre pretty funny and i adjusted. if you choose to get offended, it's your fault. now they roll off my tongue facetiously without a second thought, and its quite fun. but the big accusers are gone for the most part--Surfer Girl, Scoffer, Sufr--though they come by once in a while. out of all the bot accusers on shmack, there is only one who actually believes the accusations, and that is IHATEHUMANS, or IHH as we call him. he has a thousand other names and i dont know how people know him, but he used to be really cool and good, and seems to have slowly slipped into paranoid schizophrenia. he's likely the bitterest quaker there is; i just dont know why he keeps playing if he believes his own bullshit

Its possible, but I'll never believe someone is cheating without bulletproof evidence. I haven't seen many demos of bots in CA. I have seen a lot of demos of bots in RQ.

i dont know who this nobody is... but it was skillet (who has already been caught walling) and a ragequit has nothing to do with whether or not someone is cheating.

for example: you can ragequit after a bs shot and call bs but it doesnt mean you really mean the other person is cheating.

I can't help but say reading this thread has left me in stitches. It just amazes me after all these years, people still bitch, whine and cry about Quake with it's slowly diminishing player community. Glad I've stepped away from it. Gotta love the ever budding egos and infamous "1on1 me NOW" phrase. Reminds me of 4th grade... "AFTER SCHOOL MAN!!!"

Even though this is off topic, just wanted to say hello to Baker, Rook and cudos on the job you guys have been doing on the updates to Quake in hopes to bringing an end to the madness and sillyness that seems to still run rampart on these forums and in Quake.

Cata, it's good to still see you around playing. Omi, I see you've yet to grow up and wake up from this delusional tirade wherein you believe you're the best to ever play and as I suspected before ever getting on this website, everyone (ok maybe 95%) in the community still dislikes you. Damn kid, can you just "turn that frown upside down" (haha i couldn't resist) and have happy thoughts? Remember, just a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down! LMAO!

It was without surprise that after sneaking on a few servers when people were on in the past couple of weeks, under a different alias, people were still acting like 8 year olds. Truley pathetic. Granted there was some fun to be had and some good games played.

Anyways, justed wanted to say hello to the community, it's great you guys are keeping quake alive. Omi, I look forward to reading your sickly and pathetic flames. I'll be honored to hear what your delusional mind has to say about me once again.
