TFC Results September 12th, 1999 Coup de Grace waltzes past Special Defense Unit
Rd1 was scheduled to be played at 8:00e on Fortsakena as per TGL rules. However, well after 8:00e SDU showed up stating their members were having problems with the map. Rather than accept a forfeit win, we acknowledged their request for a round 2, with the map being CZ2. By doing so, we accepted the TGL rule that this round would be the only one that counts. We started off rd2 on CZ2 quickly, capping all 5 points to put us ahead. After that, our 3 scouts just hurled themselves at every point, capping for a total of 494 points! Each scout had a 747 tatooed to their ass, not once did I see them walk =] Hats off to our D, they held off SDU to only 54 points, and NO 5 point capture bonuses. SDU put up a good fight, and did play some of the round a man short. The pings were more or less even however. Asides from the initial delays, the game was great fun. GG guys. September 11th, 1999 Clan Erinyes meets Cogent Alliance
Rd 1 started on CE's TMAL with CE having a 40 avg ping advantage. The CE offense were the first to move in for the quick cap while the CE defense held off the CA offense. The CE defense had been practicing against the CE offense all week so we were prepared for most tactics from the CA offense holding them to no captures and several touches. Meanwhile the CE offense kept the pressure up with 16 more caps at the end of rd 1. RD 2 moved to CA's server on Fortsaken, some minor adjustments to the d and o lineup and a couple server burps and we were off. Both defenses held strong with several touches but no caps, the rd ended at a 0-0 tie. Final score 17-0 in favor of CE, was a pleasure playing Cogent Alliance and look forward to playing them in OGL again.
--------
Let me just say, they came, they played and they spanked our asses! But it is kind of hard to feel bad, when you lose to a clan like CE. Round 1 started on CE's server and they had a pretty good Latency advantage. Lets just say the match started out with them capping and ended with them capping. That was round 1. :( Round 2 was played on |CA| Home Field server and this time we had the slight advantage. This one was a little different. Both clans managed some touches, but neither could pull the flag out of the flag room. It was a great defensive battle on both sides. We thank CE for the opportunity to play them, and look forward to the next time we challenge them. And we will. :)
September 9th, 1999 Army of Darkness finally defeats Hate Inc.
This was the most exciting and challenging match, err saga I've ever been in. Going into the match we weren't sure what to expect because of HATE's reputation and our so-called "grudge" with them. It turned out to be very enjoyable. Both teams showed good sportsmanship and discipline. I wouldn't ask for anything more in a match. Now, onto the game. Round 1 was HATE's choice of rock2, good choice for them because their D didn't even let us close to the key. Props to Kendog, it felt like he fragged me 50 times and it was probably close to that. HATE managed to steal our key pretty early in the match and dropped the gas, after that it was a defensive game. Both D's were impenetrable to anyone even sneaking into the Wardens Office. That lone cap was enough for HATE to go one up on maps. Score: 15-0 Round 2 was our choice of 2fort. Our offense was out the gate very fast and managed a quick cap, followed by another soon after. HATE squeaked one out and then with time running down, decided to throw everything, even the kitchen sink, at our D, but to no avail. As they did that we managed to break away for another cap. As time ran out, I was left with flag in hand on the way out of their fort. We tied it up on maps, 1-1. Score: 30-10 Round 3 was the good old Well. Once again we got off a couple quick caps, but HATE countered with a couple quick caps of their own. Once the defenses settled down, capping came much harder for both teams. We managed to escape with the flag twice to go up 4-2, but then HATE bum-rushed us and tied it up quick and tossed one more in for the lead. With HATE up 5-4, their server had a lock-down and dropped some of our players, when I reconnected I was happier than hell to find out that during this, we managed to cap with like 2 minutes left in the match. Not only that, but it was our own HW, Maj.Ghob, (who simply refuses to cap at all), was the one who capped it! Thanks Ghob for making an exception that one time . Round 3 ends up in a tie, 50-50. For Round 4, we decided to try the Well again. This round played out almost identical to Round 3. {AOD} gained the lead by 2 caps about mid-round and then HATE poured on its offensive bum-rush that proved to be too much for our D to handle and they managed to gain the tying cap with about 1 minute left in the game. Result: 50-50 and a Round 5. Round 5 was HATE's choice of map, so they went back to their bread and butter map of rock2. This time we were prepared. Our Defense, trying out a new strategy, proved impenetrable once again, not allowing HATE to even touch our key. Our offense managed to gain access to the wardens office a couple of times and brought it out as far as the yard entrance only to be met with the most spam I've ever seen in my life. It worked though as HATE's D held off and the key returned. Both defenses were well-prepared for this one, as a result, the saga continues. Round 6 was our bull-headed choice of the Well.again.we wanted to see who was really better at this map, however it didn't work out that way. Like all the other maps, our Offense managed to pull off a quick cap for the lead, only this time we were going to make sure that HATE didn't score at all on us, another thing that didn't quite go our way. HATE snuck away with the flag to tie the game. Soon after both teams pulled off another cap almost simultaneously to keep the game deadlocked at 20-20 and that was how it ended. Another damn tie, another damn round. *Deep sigh of relief*
The round started off with us capping all four points fairly early in the match and just never looking back, following up with another 3 complete captures. Our defense stood tall today as it definitely held the command points to our team for this match. HATE did not seem very prepared for this map as they were for the others and we were definitely glad for that. It seemed to me that their flag runners were trying harder to caltrop spam our base than cap points. It was quite annoying , but we managed to get though it. This was one helluva long, but enjoyable 7 rounds. HATE is an excellent team, hopefully we'll meet them again in the future...a long, long, distant future :) GG HATE! Kill Ya Latez
Ride the Lightning fries Cybertron Warriors
Well, we returned to action in the OGL with a bang. It's been awhile since we've had a match here Anyways, tonights opponet was CW. We started off on Well, and things were pretty tight for a bit. Eventually, we were able to pull the "touch, run and die" offense and move the flag over for the cap. we settled down a bit on D and they sent everything at us to get that cap back. They had a touch or two, but while they were attacking, our offense was able to grab two more. The match ended with CW with the flag going for cap...but time ran out. Round 2 was CZ2. We used limited runners with heavy support. This worked well with most of the action happening at point 1. All in all it was alot of fun and CW is a great competitor and we look forward to any futere matches we might have.
Army of Darkness dims Cogent Alliance
Hott damn! It was nice playing a clan other than HATE for a change. This match was a rescheduling from the night before because of some server problems. RTL's Clan server was the new battleground and boy was it a bloody one. These CA boys are very good. Round 1 started off with {AOD} capping all 4 points fairly early into the match giving us a small but effective 20 point lead and after that it was an exchange of command points back and forth the rest of the match. That lone complete capture proved to be the difference in the round 1 as {AOD} goes to take it 232-203. Round 2 started off much the same way, we managed to cap all four points fairly early into the match, however we soon added another complete capture. Things started settled down until about 5 minutes left in the match when CA threw a truckload of flag running scouts into the action and managed to bring the quad damage up almost two consectutive times in a very short span. It wasn't enough though as we held on to win it 240-206. GG to CA, I have to admit a close game of pipezone with a classy clan like yourselves, couldn't have been any better. Kill Ya Latez
-----------
What can I say, it is always hard when you lose. However it was a great gut wrenching match. Both rounds where played on RTL's server and AOD had the slight latency advantage. Round 1 started out fast with soldiers and demos running into each other at ever cap point. AOD took the early lead by capping all four points. |CA| was battling back, when the time ran out on us. Round 2 started out fairly well. Alot of DM fighting taking place all over the map. AOD manage 2 back to back quad caps which gave them a good lead. But not to be out done |CA| managed two quad caps to bring the game closer. But the time bug always hits when you don't want it and the match ended. We thank AOD for being patient with all the server problems that took place yesterday and we congratulate them on a hard faught victory.
September 8th, 1999 Total Harmonic Destruction shoots down Zodiac Braves
We met on ZB's server for a battle in the Well. Both sides started off with furious scout rushes. ZB's rush paid off while THD was left scoreless. Both sides traded scores and by mid-game it was 40-30 THD. Then, THD witnessed an awesome comeback by the Braves who went back on top 50-40. Lucky for THD, our O (Buckeye, Dman2b, BadKarma, and Absinthe) came through one last time and we evened the score with only minutes remaining. When the game ended, ZB had our flag but failed to cap before time ran out. Great job D (Daz, Nadagast, Blashy, and Oaf). An intense battle for sure. Final score 50-50. Game 2:This time we played on THD's Go Bucks Server. THD got out to an early commanding lead of more 100 to less than 10 with 2 quick takes of all 5 cps. Our runners continue to fly around the canals as our defenders (Buckeye, Absinthe, Daz, Nadagast, and Blashy) battled with the Braves. Of special note for THD was Absinthe, who's bazooka was simply on fire tonight. ZB started to get it together around mid-game and took all cap points one time. They also were able to sneak a demo into our base several times. But the conc jumping talents of Dm@n2b, Nemo, and Oaf allowed us to keep on capping. When the dust settled the final score was THD 220 and ZB 108. We thank the Zodiac Braves for an awesome night of TFC fun. We commend them on their sportsmanship and
wish them the best in the future. And we look forward to facing them again on that virtual battlefield we call
TFC.
Clan Destine blacks out Expert Nocturnal Souls
Not much to say. The first round they only played with 4. The second round they started with 4 and then dropped. I guess they tried in the first round but not in the second? Interesting first match for this new Clan. All in all they were nice guys but that didn't seem to lend to the playability of the match. Maybe next time they can get it together.
Coup de Grace graciously beats Total Harmonic Destruction
Round 1 Part A: We start on CdG's server. It dies Round 1 Part B: We restart on CdG's server again. This time around it holds, with a bit of lag and PL for everyone though. We fight through it and manage to narrowly escape with a victory over their squad. On many occasions both sides were close to get Quad damage, but I think each side managed to pull it off once. Round 2: We head over to THD's server where pings were better for most people and start battling it out. In the beginning we sprint to a quick lead that doubles their score. Not ready to be put out we continue to fight against each other, They get all the cap points, then we respond back and grab em all. Then they get em all again. After the 2nd time we bunkered down and moved to cover our home cp all the time. After the smoke cleared we barely escaped victory again. Great Game THD! and props to Absynthe who managed to fry my ass many times. :)
Kindred rides Ride the Lightning
Well it's official. KiN is on a streak. Two whole matches in a row!! We met RTL tonight on their server for some blood and mayhem, Kindred Style. RTL was more than happy to meet us half way. We opened the first round by immediately running over to say where's the beer. RTL told us to get out of their cooler and the fight was on. After establishing a presence close to their home, Seretogis and Takashi proceeded to run flags capping all points a couple of times. Our own resident Master of Mania, that juggernaught known as Striker, held the upper levels while our Dynamic Duo, Beef and Aux, controlled the nether regions. The round was fiercely contested but KiN was able to hold their positions rolling to a Round 1, 270 - 96 victory. Round 2 found us with a crippled server so back to RTL's place for more "Hair o' the dog that bit ya". Knowing that RTL would be out to steal our beer after we crashed their party, Kindred quickly rushed into position. We again took the attack to the RTL side of things with battle cries like "Remember the Shiner!!" "don't fire 'til the beer is safe!!" and my personal favorite "Dammit dog get off my leg" (not sure why Cabal kept yelling that?). Kablooie was on a self appointed mission to keep the RTL squad bottled up as we dropped a couple players mid way through. Thankfully Zang played strong from his preferred position (he likes it on bottom) and we were out manned for a short time only. We wrapped up the second round with a 294 - 64 victory. Thanks for the game RTL. Once again Kindred meets another class competitor in the TOPTEN league. ---------
Damn...Thats a "margin of victory".Clan Kindred is a great and highly skilled clan. They showed us how you play pipezone. Can't really comment on what happened outside of our base becuase KiN wouldn't let me out of mine. They were in control of entire map and as you can tell by the score, we got schooled. Anyways, still had alot of fun and look forward to any future matchups we might have with KiN. Good luck next week :)
Agression Rangers clap Thunder Balls
Aggression Rangers squared off against Thunderballs tonight in a postponed match due to lightning last night. First round, =AR= flew out of base and didn't pass any TB players. Seconds later, we realized that their whole team disconnected due to firewall probs. We restarted and second time was charm. Both teams fought fast and furious. Our defense kept them to touches while our offense took advantage of undercover spy confusion. Their defense tightened like a death grip on our offense half way through making it a hard fight to pull the flag out -- hard but not impossible. Round two started off well with TB defense strong and ready. They weren't going to give in without a serious fight. The Rangers were rolling though and not ready to stop. Our offense touched, touched, capped the flag several times. Then we got a message asking for a "time out" -- their team suddenly dropped. What happened next was like freeze tag. Our team stopped in its tracks, they returned and asked our medic to leave the flag room. We obliged and the game started back up there and continued through to the end. When the smoke cleared, we came out winning 11-0. That was a hell of a game and we all enjoyed it. Well played TB. Your sportsmanship and skill will do you well in the future. We look forward to playing you again in the future.
September 7th, 1999 Armageddon dooms Digital Assassins
[ARM] takes [DA]... and a spot on the Top10 in the OGL The moment you have all been waiting for! (well, me at least hehe) [ARM] takes [DA] today in a VERY good, and close game in the OGL. It even went for 3 rounds, with [DA] taking Forsaken 1-0, [ARM] taking Well 7-3, and Rock2 1-0. Both teams did very very well on all the maps, and much thanks goes to [DA] for being one of the more mature, and respectable clans out there. [ARM] has finally earned a top spot in the OGL, and goal which they have been trying to achieve since day one in the OGL. Much thanks goes to Jordan, and Apok for some brilliant offensive coordination, and ZeeZ for OUTSTANDING Defensive help. [ARM] could not have taken the win without such great teamwork from some really great people they are. [DA]Capone, is probably one of the nicest leaders I have ever had the privelege to play with, and I hope that if [DA] and [ARM] meet again in the future that we will expect nothing less of a great match. YAY! -BarraCuda.os-AA-
p.s. Thanks to MSG for the use of one of their servers. Gods of Hate smite BlackSun
Round 1 It started off pretty slow. Black Sun sent 3-4 scouts at a time, but our sentry was already up so they didn't get very far. They had 2 sentries up so we got mowed down as well. Trixter then had us get behind him and we went up the vent one at a time spamming the hell out of there box room. Then our scouts and medic shot in and we began pulling cap after cap. I knew the match was ours when i saw our defense playing crowbar tag (im serious) when i respawned. Our flag man got 3 kills. The round ended with Trixter outfragging there whole team as an offensive heavyweapons guy. We won 5 caps to 0. Round 2 We went right at them again, but they seemed to be all defense. They used a good tactic of spamming the vent with constant mirvs and forced us up the spiral. We made one run all the way up and after we spammed them to death a medic go in and out with the flag. The round ended 1 cap to 0. Good game to Black Sun. They are a good team. --------
Black Sun would like to thank GoH for a nice lesson on how to play the Opposing Forces map. :) Both rounds were played on GoH's server. In spite of some MM1 taunts by GoH during the second round, a good time was had by all. The first round started off with a quick demolition of the bridge between the two bases by GoH and their establishing
a strong presence in the middle area. BlkSun's attacks were blunted before they even reached the enemy base.
GoH had a good interior defense which finished the job of BlkSun's attacks. Meanwhile in the BlkSun base
adept demomen and hw guys blasted a way through for attacking medics and scouts. BlkSun's defense initially held off,
but finally weakened and fell through the middle of the round. Very quickly GoH amassed 5 caps before Black Sun's defense
solidified. The second round was played quite differently than the first round. GoH did not seem to press as hard on offense and were
content with only one cap. Most of the second round was played deathmatch-style inside the BlkSun base. Cogent Alliance knocks off U Suck
What a great match on what has to be a defensive map from HELL. Round 1 started |CA| House of Pimpage server and latency was pretty much even. |CA| was able to a quick touch but was unable to pull the flag out. There was a endless battle on the bridge with both teams fighting hard. As our offense managed to squeze past a very stubborn US defense and grab 3 caps. Our Defense held strong but allowed US to walk out with only 1 cap. --------
Round 1 we had problems with connectivity to their server. We played most of this round with 6-7 guys. CA did well and capped on us 3 times to our 1. Round 2 was normal and our guys had a slight ping advantage. CA decided to go with an 8 man D to protect their lead. We were only able to cap one time. Our new players did well considering. As veteran U Suck interest in TFC wanes, the new blood will do good things in the future. GG to CA, too. Total Harmonic Destruction divides 30+
Round 1 of oppose was on THD's Go Bucks server. Game started off with both teams getting quick touches on the flag. 30+ was able to finish it off and go up 1-0. It stayed that way for quite a while it seemed. The THD defense settled in and held 30+ off for the most part. The THD offense died and died and died some more trying to get the flag. We figured out a little flaw in their defense and were able to exploit it for 4 hard fought caps. 30+ capped once more near the end of the round. Final in round 1 was THD 4 and 30+ 2. Round 2 moved to 30+'s server. Game started off a little slower. Neither team was able to grab a quick cap. The THD offense was able to bring a cap home about 5 minutes into the match. 30+ kept battling and tied it up shortly there after. Things stayed that way for a while until we finally were able to break through the extremely tough 30+ defense and bring another one home. The round ended with 30+ in possession of our flag. Final score THD 2 and 30+ 1. As always we greatly enjoyed playing 30+. Things went off without a hitch and fun was had all around. 30+ may be old but they can still frag! :-) Talking Goats rematch Digital Resurrection
This is the 3rd match up for the Goats with Dire. Last time we played was at the beginning of the summer and they were very disorganized and only showed with 6 guys, needless to say we wooped their asses. Well I beleive that was their last match before they took the summer off. A few months later, a few new players, a great T3 server(we opted to play both rounds on it) and I beleive lots of practice... They came back and gave us a run for our money. This was an awsome match. Both Defences stood strong for the whole first round. Our Gun in the flag room got basically zero action as DarkGlobe played the fatboy and mowed their ramp attacks down while my pipes closed off the wind tunnel entrance. Second round was a different story. They did an amazing scout rush and rocked our D right off the beginning. They got to the flag and moved it beside the wind tunnel. We yelled for backup and their Offence kept coming. Fortunately our Defence held strong and the flag returned. That is when our Offence put it into high gear and pulled off the only cap of the game. They then moved to an almost full Offence and we had to pull so of our Offence back on D. They push the limits of our Offence and the only thing that kept us alive was the 5 dispencer kills by Gungadin and the great team work of the rest of the D. This map is nasty on Offenses. No major bottlenecks but very hard to crack. Dire were great opponents and we definately enjoyed playing them more this time than before the summer. This match easily could have gone either way.
Mind over Matter brains WOLF
First Match on their server was pretty good. Lag all around wasn't too hot so it was pretty defensive. I think they managed to touch our flag once, but it was dropped within a second. We got near their flag a couple times but weren't able to touch it. Second Match was on our server. It again was quite a defensive match to start out. We managed to sneak by and grab the flag and drop it down chute into main room. From there we couldn't get it out due to major mirvs all over the room. So we tried again. Second time we again got it into room but this time on second run managed to get it into water. It stayed there for about 3 minutes while about 4 or 5 demos launched mirvs in from the other side. Finally we got it out and capped it. For some reason a couple of their players started lagging when we had the flag in water, but that didn't really affect the outcome as they still had 5 guys able to play D and they weren't going to stop us from getting it in from that close anyway. All in all a good game. Map is way to hard to cap on though. BTW Eat it Buckeye. September 6th, 1999 LocaL fights off Clan Wu Tang
It was important for Clan Local to perform well, coming off a surprising lost to Clan N0. RD1 both clans went for the quick cap. Our defense held them off as the offense was able to move the flag up the ramps and finally got the quick cap. As both defenses settled in the caps become difficult to come by, and both teams got touches. Clan LocaL kept the presure bringing 4 more unanswered caps ending the round at 50-0 RD2 opened on well. Clan LocaL's offense was stunned when we ran in to a level III SG up on the first opening rush at the door. Our defense did not stablize and a result we were leaking caps. Within 10 minutes of the match it was 30-40 Clan Wu Tang. After some guidence of our D leader (DangerM0use) the leaks were plugged and the offense went to work. Clan LocaL opened up with a resupply overtake, and we held it. Sending our lone soldier to knock out the defense at the flag room. We began to defend their base from themselves and the caps ran. 140-40 Clan LocaL Both teams showed excellent sportmanship, and we hope to see Clan Wu Tang in the future. September 5th, 1999 Dice paints a picture of Clan Erinyes
It was an honor losing to these guys. We lacked [Dice]Dem0 on defense and [Dice]Mazul on offense but the way CE played the Well was like looking at really beautiful painting. It was pure art. These guys are no1 and undefeated for a reason. All CE players play like they are part of the TFC code and their teamplay is excellent. This war proved that cross atlantic wars can be much fun. Playing at 1AM European time was pretty cool actually ;-) We got lots of new ideas now and in 2-3 weeks we will challange CE again. Good game CE
September 4th, 1999 Clan Erinyes shoots Dice
Rd 1 started on the new TMAL server with CE's pings avg 170 Dice's 270 on well. Rd started with a quick push by both clans and neither getting a touch, and then it settled down for about 3 minutes. 4 minutes in Dice made a move on our flag after we had capped on them and got past our sentry and grabbed the flag out of our flag room and started moving it. At that point there was a short lived fight in our water tunnel with Dice prevailing. With that the CE defense sucked it up and made it their mission not to give up anymore caps on well. The rest of the rd saw the CE offense bring in 10 more caps bringing the score to 11-1 in favor of CE. RD 2 moved across the Atlantic (and in reality across the US ;p) to Dice's server where dice was sporting a 100 avg ping and CE had an avg of 310 (mental note more east coast lpbs for international matches ;p) on 2fort. The rd started with both clans trying for the quick cap and I suspect to both clans' surprise none was to be had. After about 8 minutes the CE offense started moving the Dice flag and eventually brought it home. Dice responded in kind about 6 minutes later with a flag push and a cap of their own. Determined not to settle for a tie the CE offense along with a defense player started pushing for the Dice flag again. Around the 23 minute mark we struck paydirt and started moving their flag and a nice battle ensued on the bridge, but the CE offense was able to pull the cap in. The rd ended with several more touches by both clans but the score remained 2-1 CE. Final score 13-2 CE, it was a pleasure playing Dice and we look forward to playing them again in the future.
September 3rd, 1999 Cogent Alliance scalps Zodiac Braves
What a great match. Fun was had by all. |CA| came to play, but ZB was not going to just give it away. Round 1 started out on |CA|Clan Server and it started out fast. Both clans were able to get into the flag rooms, but were not able to pull out the flags. Then ZB turned it on and started to take the flag like they owned it. With about 10 minutes left in the match, our Defense managed to dig themselves in and stop ZB for the remainder of the round. And our offense managed to get through a tuff defense and pull out a cap. Round 2 was played on ZB's server and it started out just as fast as round 1, with both clans blowing the doors early. It started out as a close game, but we managed to pull further and further away as the match went on. With |CA|LuCifeR-rD & |CA|PapaPup becoming a two man capping machine, as they started to remove ZB's flag at will. ZB offense put up one hell of a fight, but our defense held strong and were very stingy about letting the flag go. With the excitement level in rounds 1 & 2 taking its toll, everybody knew that round 3 was not going to be easy. As with the previous 2 rounds, Scouts and Medics were airborne and seemed to never touch the ground. |CA| managed to get the first touch but was unable to pull the flag out. ZB also got a quick grab but were able to pull it out for a early cap. We pushed through and were able to tie it up, but not for long. ZB slipped in again and pulled another one out. Not to be out done and with a quick pep talk from |CA|LongBow, we put it into full gear and started pulling out the flag like there was no tomorrow. Our defense dug in once again and just refused to let ZB get anymore caps. ZB brought everything they could at our defense, I could swear I saw relatives of ZB heading towards are base carrying rocket launchers and pipe guns. But if the entire match wasn't enough, both clans had the flag and were on their ways to cap when the match ended. We thank ZB for a great match and we look forward to playing them again in the future!
100k.devil.legion quenches Black Sun
We had a great match tonight. Thanks to BlkSun for their patience and sportsmanship. We came into this match with no match experience on Darkness, and we started out very slow. We gradually got our groove and got it together on offense and started trading caps. BlkSun, jumped to an early two-point lead after a first cap by us, but after that it was neck and neck. Not too great a surprise, but both teams ignored the barrier cap and went for the base cap for the two points. About 20 minutes into the match, the network on which BlkSun's server resides went down (10-8 100kdl at that point), so we restarted (keeping scores) on our server. We learned a bit the first map and took it into the second map in which we chinked away at their defense, squeezing out the two-cap lead (four points) when it ended. Score: 26-20 100kdl. (Total from both servers) Second map found us on 2fort, and we didn't know what to expect. We braced for a heavy rush from the Blksun offense and were able to avoid the quick-cap with a solid defense, while sending our two best flyers into the blue base to get a touch on their flag. We were able to sneak the flag up and out fairly early and take the cap to get our momentum going. The BlkSun defense was tenacious and thwarted all our attempts to get back down into their basement for some time after that, but about 15 minutes into the match we got it together and found a weakness and sneaked in again for a few more. Hats off to BlkSun defense, who I am convinced only faltered because they were slip-slidin' away on our gibs the whole match. We also had one member idle most of the match (he got a scolding for not dropping and getting a substitute, let me add) due to a sudden "issue" requiring his immediate attention. We had fun and BlkSun was a team we would love to meet again; we hope to meet more clans with the same winning attitude. Score: 50-0 100kdl.
------------
This match was plagued by bad servers. The first map, Darkness, started out on Black Sun's server which crashed after the first 15 minutes. After a long delay it was decided that Darkness should be continued on 100kDL's server. This server, however, was plagued by high pings and packet loss. Ahh the Internet... Darkness was close with the combined scores, but 100kDL shut Black Sun out on 2Fort. Attacking their base was like hitting a brick wall and their scouts and medics managed to get through. September 2nd, 1999 Total Harmonic Destruction purges SIN
Round 1 started on THD's Go Bucks server with cz2. Our scouts busted tail capping all 5 CPs twice in the early part of the round. Our defenders settled in and held the SIN flag runners at bay for the most part. SIN then concentrated on holding the CP closest to their base. Not a whole lot of drama in this one. Final was THD 204 and SIN 79. Round 2 stayed on our server and we played good old 2fort. We had a nice rush at the beginning to get a quick cap. Our offense plugged away and was able to cap at a nice pace. The THD defense held SIN off until late in the match when they went mostly offense. This allowed us to cap one right after the other. Final score ended up being THD 140 and SIN 50.
Kollektiv assimilates New-Anarchists
Kollektiv was ready for an evening of heated battle. Unfortunately, Neo-Anarchists could only field 6 players against our 8 veterans. Round 1- When the bell rang, our O squad literally flew across the map, the first cap in under 2 minutes. Nac, trying all sorts of inventive tactics, was unable to cap a key, though they had several touches. Kollektiv O squad continued to move the Nac key. At end of first round, Nac chose to concede the match.

Unfortunately, they forfeited. Don't like to post forfeits, but needed it on record. Cybertron Warriors wave goodbye to Coup de Grace
I wish that we could of played CDG. Apperantly Coup De Grace is leaving the OGL Ladder from what Barker[CDG] has told me. We were hoping to earn our spot as #9 in OGL but we wish the best of luck in CDG in the future. Although we have our hands full in our Scrimmage against CE this thursday and look forward in playin the #1 clan !
September 1st, 1999 Total Harmonic Destruction runs over Cogent Alliance
We came into this match ready for anything after CA beat KiN on Run. We didn't really know what to expect, but we were pumped. The match certainly proved to be a hell of a good time. Round 1 started on THD's Go Bucks server with THD having a slight ping advantage. The fighting was bloody from the beginning. CA took an early lead. THD battled back with some excellent flag running by Daz, Absinthe and Dm@n2b. The lead exchanged hands several times more times. We were able to pull ahead by a few with just minutes remaining. Time ran out with THD ahead 11-9. Round 2 was also on our server. This time we got off to an early lead and never trailed. Our defenders did an excellent job demonstrating their death-match skills by protecting our flag carriers and controlling key areas of the map. CA never gave up and kept fighting us tooth and nail the whole way. The final for round 2 was 9-4 in favor of THD. Thanks go out to CA for another excellent match. This is the third time we have played them recently and every time it is a blast. They are extremely talented and a pleasure to play. GG CA!
--------
Well, all I can say is this time THD were determined to get a win and that's what they did. This was a very intense match with both rounds being played on the [THD]Go bucks server. |CA| being outpinged as well for both rounds. We started off strong, with flags being lost and picked up faster than could be kept track of. The 1 on 1 action was constant and never-ending, with the flag return often swarming with enemy players. It's obvious THD practiced on this map as they were always in the right place at the right time. We thank them for an excellent game and look forward to next time. GG THD,
Ride the Lightning whacks Crowbar Swinging Idiots
We where extremely nervouse going into this game. Due to scheduling
conflicts and a array of technical problems we only had about 6 players to
play the first map, reguardless we went on with what best we could and
started the match. CSI came out guns and scouts a blazing and quickly
overtook all command points, at this point we gained a player bringin us to
7. We now found ourselves in a hole we would battle out of the entire match.
CSI kept the pressure on consistently one upping us as we overtook command
points. Finally half way through the match we where fortunate enough to have
a engineer completely reinstall his Half Life and start to play. with a
solid 7 (we lost a player due to time constraints) we began to forge a
comeback. We held up strong under fierce CSI pressure and eventually snuk
out a complete overtake of the map. A second overtake took place shortly
after and it lit a spark under our whole squad. We overtook all the command
points once more and found ourselves fending off a ferociuse offensive put
forth by CSI.
Second map was alot more relax for us.We had a full team, so we were ready. Unfornatly, this time, CSI was undermanned 10 min into secon map.The map had numorous all point caps by RTL and some by CSI. The spam was there by design for this amp so bith clans obliged. All in all it was a fun time and look forward to future matches with CSI.
Kindred pacifies God's Wrath
Well KiN finally got a handle on Run. It was a great match and props to GW for the sportsmanship that they showed. After having a few server problems the match got underway only minutes late. Naturally on Run, it is a mad dash for flags and frags. Kindred came out to prove that last weeks match was the exception not the rule. Met by stiff GW resistance, our flag runners proved resourceful and creative by flying all over the map. It was an intense run for fun with Kindred coming out of the first round up 9 - 3 in a closer round than it sounds. The second round again on our server was fraught with problems as pings and lagging became the norm and GW was punished by it. After a number of GW players pinged out we called temporary truce to discuss the matter right there in the middle of the match. It was outrageous and polite and something I had never seen done. We decided to restart the round and once again the race was on. Once again props to GW for their incredible sportsmanship in the face of bad pings and dropping players. Kindred wins second round 11 - 4. Army of Darkness blinds Clan Systematic Destruction
