TFC Results September 19th, 1999 WOLF comes back on Coup de Grace
After a late start the match got under way on Clan [CdG]'s Military Industrial Complex TFC. They droped their door before the time limit expired and soon after WOLF followed by dropping their wall. After we turned there were a few scouts waiting to get in and get the flag. CdG did a really awesome job on offence, getting the flag out many times on WOLF's defence. After a little talk WOLF's defence tightened up and managed to stop CdG from getting the flag. On the other side, WOLF's offence was busy with CdG's defence. Right when one of our demos took their gun down, there was another one up - that or CdG's defence stoped our offence with pipes or rockets. WOLF managed to keep it close the whole game but was unable to cap a few more times. Final Score Round 1: CdG 26, WOLF 20. Right away WOLF went into The Hunting Grounds, hungry to win. Everything started out almost like round one. CdG dropped their wall before WOLF did and soon after both sides touched the flag. WOLF's offence managed to get the flag out a few times before being met by some soldiers or demos. I dont know what WOLF's defence did but every time a CdG player would touch the flag, they would be killed in an istant. Same thing on WOLF's offence side. Both sides struggled to get the flag out, even if there were holes that were open, there would be a demo or soldier waiting. It was a really close match in the beginning. Great playing on both sides! You could tell that WOLF really practiced hard on Darkness. That and the thought of the TGL title on the table. CdG is a awesome clan and i respect them highly! Great job CdG. Final Score Round 2: CdG 4, WOLF 16. Like I said, CdG played an awesome game and they are respected highly by WOLF. They never gave up and they had awesome teamwork. It's always fun playing this and im looking forward to playing them again soon!
September 18th, 1999 Cogent Alliance goes three against Ride The Lightning
What a great match. It was a hard fought battle with a great bunch of players. Except for the minor connection problems at the beginning, the match went on without any problems. Round 1 was played on |CA| Home Field and latency was pretty even. It was a great defense battle on both sides. RTL managed to see the flag room a couple of times, but were not able to pull the flag out. |CA| Offense managed to squeak by with 2 caps while the defense was able to bring home a shutout. Round 2 was played on [Clan RTL]Inthexis' T3 TFC and RTL had just a slight Latency advantage. Lets just say that |CA|'s performance in this map was not up to par. And RTL came out firing away. RTL managed to take all the cap points 4 times and really put |CA| in their place. Round 3 went back to |CA| Home Field and it was just another great battle. Both clans came out fast and furious, but neither was able to pull out the flag. RTL's offense came at |CA|'s defense with everything they had. I believe the only class I didn't see was sniper and I bet if they had more time, they would have sent one of those too. |CA|'s offense was able to manage sever outstanding attacks and pull out the flag 4 times. Most of which were allot of touch and dies. |CA|'s defense held strong and only allowed RTL to pull the flag out of the flag room twice, but they were never able to pull it out of the fort. Like I said, it was a great match, with a great bunch of guys. We thank RTL for a very fun and exciting match. And look forward to the next time we meet.
---------
What a night. We decided to try for the longest prematch record and got about 25 min of it :)-CA- was kind enough to do a couple of restarts on behalf of RTL because members were having connection troubles. Eventually we got going and it was a tight first round with Fortsake. They had numorous touches with spies, but got only two caps. RTL had neither and -CA- got the shutout. Round 2 found us on the friendly confines of "clan RTL Inthexis T3 TFC" server and we had a much easier time with CZ2. We were able to pull off a few "all points capped" and were able to keep them from doing the same. Round 3 brought us back to -CA- Home Field, and they were able to pitch the shutout again getting 4 caps to our no caps. All in all it was a fun night and look forward to any and all future matches with Cogent Alliance.
September 16th, 1999 Black Sun steps on Frog Free
First of all, Black Sun would like to thank Clan Frog Free for holding this match. A little background: Last week our web host (Vortexq -- our new site is: www.clanblacksun.com), went down for 5 days and we were not able to get any clan mail as a result. In that time FrogFree challenged us on OGL. Without our knowledge we forfeited the match. After numerous e-mails to FrogFree and Shaggy at OGL we arranged to hold this match this evening. Although during this time the OGL has continued to go on and we have been challenged by another clan, we played the match hoping that this mistake (caused by tech problems) will be corrected. The first map, TotalWar started out with Black Sun attacking with five which resulted in a quick couple of caps. Our offense then focused on wearing down FrogFree's attackers before they got to our base while only 3 actually made continuous runs to their base. Black Sun's defense was solid throughout and Frog Free only managed a few touches. Final score: BlkSun 5, FF 0. After a rather long intermission both teams settled down to play the Well. Black Sun settled down to 4 on offense with one member basically assisting the offense across the yard. FrogFree tried a number of somewhat unconventional tactics, including using a sniper, a HW guy rush (3 hw guys!), spies, medics; which didn't reap much in the way of results. Black Sun managed to cap five times before the map ended. Final: BlkSun 5, FF 0. Once again, we thank FrogFree for the good time and we are crossing our fingers that this match will count. We'd also like to thank our opponents
for next week's match (who rescheduled from Thursday), Project X. ----------
FrogFree would like to thank Black Sun for keeping us humble. Great Game on both maps, no trash talk, purely professional play from a clan that was surely far better than we are. Due to a small mixup on the OGL, we were awarded a win over Black Sun due to their forfeiting the match. That surely would have been a miscarriage of justice after seeing Black Sun McWork us on Total War (never played it before as a clan... oops!) and Well (a map that we thought we were quite good at). I would like to extend congratulations to Black Sun for a match well won. Regards,

The results are being submitted a day late since we planned to finish off round 2 today, but GOD failed to show with the minimum of 6 players (4 only showed). So they forfeited the second round. This was a bit irritating since CSI made an effort to show up tonight, with certain members sacrificing their night for the sake of playing =( Round 1 took place on CdG's server, who were nice enough to let us borrow it (thanks guys! =P), after our server was giving certain users weird host_errors (we later learned this weird host error is probably map related rather than server/user related since it happened on all three servers which we went ahead to try to play on). Anyway, on to the game... Through out it all, certain players were dropping here and there but we managed to keep it going. CSI opened the game quickly capping with some nice spy work. The second cap was done by ACE_340 in one of the many offensive rushes to the enemy base. By the end of the game we lowered the number of defensive players to two and they guarded that flag just fine killing the occassional medic/scout/demoman that tried to come close. Final score: 20 - 0, CSI. GG GOD, hopefully the next game we'll get to play in better conditions,
September 15th, 1999 Digital Assassins bum out The Brothers Disgruntled
The match with BD was eventful, to say the least. The first map was Fortsaken on the DA server. DA started out by getting numerous touches before capping twice. Then, 5 of the 8 BD members suddenly left the server. With three BD members left, DA capped 3 more times in the ensuing minutes. The 5 BD members came back to the server and wondered what had happened. DA scored once more and ended the map with a 60-0 win. After the map, I told one of their members that we would never kick anybody from our server, and that the disconnections had to stem from their connection. Questions were still abound... The round 2 map was 2fort on the BD server. BD started off with a quick scout rush that DA was unprepared for. BD capped the DA flag twice before DA got their D fully set up and settled down. DA came right back and capped twice on the BD Defense. The momentum had definitely shifted in favor of DA, as our Defense was holding and our Offense was capping. Then tragedy struck. All 8 members of the DA squad were disconnected from the server. Boom. Nobody could connect for a minute or two or three. By the time DA started to get back on the BD server, BD had a 60-20 lead and was on their way to cap again. Needless to say, DA was very upset and justifiably so. But, we didn't complain. We decided that the best course of action was to play through the mire of the BD server and hopefully pull out the sweet win. DA could only muster one more capture for a 30-70 loss on 2fort, though, and the table shifted back to the DA server for the deciding match. Round 3 was (as stated earlier) on the DA server, hosting Rock. DA jumped out to a very quick 45-0 lead before the same 5 BD members dropped from the DA server again. They were gone for two or three minutes, and DA went up big, 120-0, before the BD members could get back on. Once back, BD acknowledged the fact that there connections were shoddy at best that night, causing disconnects and whatnot(!). Then, it seemed like all the BD members were asking for a map restart due to their disconnection problems. I granted their map restart request. The map was restarted and DA was off the hook again, holding the BD Offense to 1 touch while the DA Offense capped 4 times for the 60-0 win. It was a nice win after coming back from a complete disconnection from the BD server. Kindred gives a loss to Coup de Grace
The Kindred train keeps a rollin' on our self appointed mission back to the top of TFC. Tonight we played CdG, a very skilled and respected clan. The first round found us a player short and five minutes from home. CdG, being the class clan that they are, agreed to give us the extra five minutes. The match got underway, on this territorial contest known as Pipezone, only a few minutes late. Kindred immediately ran to position providing cover and support for our cherished flag carriers. With Cab and Kab trying to pin them in their base, Gear and Cyn were able to hamper flag carriers. From what I understand the battle down below was nothing short of fierce, with CdG trying to punch a hole through. Beef and Aux admirably held their posts. The Kindred carriers were able to grab all cp's a few times as Ser really turned up the heat. The first round, played on CdG's excellent server, (I ping better there than my home server) ended with KiN up 312 to 129. Round 2 took place on KiN's TAMU server, newly refit with a PIII 450. CdG found itself with a slight latency disadvantage as most of KiN's members were in the low 100's to sub 100's. It was with renewed focus that CdG came hard at us this round. Changing their strategy on the fly, CdG came at us determined to gain ground. Luckily we were able to get two of our heavy hitters in for this round, Striker and Zang. The initial push caught KiN by surprise but we were able to battle back. We were lucky to get a couple of quads near the end but it was definitely a rough one early on. Great game CdG. Round 2 ends 285 - 154.
Total Harmonic Destruction gongs Ride The Lightning
Round 1 was played on RTL's OC3 Server, and pings were fair all around, there were a few minor delays with RTL's admin being away, but they didn't pose more of a problem than could be handled. We got off to a quick start capping CP's like there was no tommorow. RTL's runners were doing their best, but our fraggers gave all they could and kept them at bay for the most part. Round 2 was played on THD's Go Bucks! server with pings leaning more towards THD. It started off much as round one did, we capped all CPs numerous times, and did our best to control the map. We were very successful up until the end of the round where RTL started to make a major comeback, they locked down on CP4 like a vice and didn't budge an inch. They must have scored 50 points in all of 5 minutes. RTL is definately one of TFCs finer clans. A few of their members dropped due to connectivity problems, but I didn't hear one complaint. GG RTL, hope to see you again soon!
---------
Well another school day for RTL. I think next time if we bring an apple to the teachers, they won't make it so painful. Another night of "pipezone" and I am damn glad we don't have to play this one again :)THD came in and played a great game. Their teamwork and experienced shined thru in this match. Also would like to thank them for their patience while we set up our server thru rcon. The match itself was still alot of fun and playing clans like THD can only make you better.
Cogent Alliance turns the lights out on WOLF
Just another fun match! By the request of Clan Wolf, we went ahead and played Darkness insteed of Pipezone. Both rounds were played on [cM] -ESA- TFC (beer) server and latency was pretty even for both clans. Round one started out with both clans knocking down the barriers early. Then it became a race for who could cap more. At one point |CA| had a 10 point lead, but Wolf was just not about to give up as they came back to as close as 4 points. But |CA|'s offense was relentless and held it to a 6 point round. Round two was an exact copy of round 1. Both barriers came down early. Both teams started on a capping frenzy. And once again |CA| was able to get a good lead and Wolf faught back to keep it close. With about 10 minutes left, |CA| put it into overdrive and brought the lead to 12 points. Wolf faught hard and played a good match. We thank them for a fun match and look forward to playing them again in the furture.
Army of Darkness outflanks Meilleurs Assassins du Québec
All in all a good match where I think everyone had a good time. Round 1 was to start on MaQ's server, however they didn't have a rcon password to restart it when about only half of both teams had joined. Several {AOD} members had trouble connecting to the server, then kept continously dropping throughout the first couple minutes and had troubles reconnecting. Anyway, without the rcon MaQ agreed to move it to {AOD}'s new server, The Pitch, for its first match. It held up very good where pings were just about even for the most part. Round 1, {AOD} got off very quickly making a complete cap almost in the first minute, before MaQ had even capped their first point. From there on, it was a continuous barrage of quad damage fire from {AOD} directed at MaQ. Our Defense also held strong, not giving up any complete captures, as we went on for the win, 311-129. Round 2, MaQ wanted to go back to their server since their leader with rcon was online now, so we agreed, but once again the same connection problems occured as before, and once again we brought it back to The Pitch. This time it was a little more hard fought of a match. MaQ's pings even seemed to drop a little bit. Our flag runners managed to pull off another series of quad damages and our defense stood strong once again. {AOD} wins 306-143. MaQ were very good sports thoughout the whole game. We like their attitude and skills. Fun clan to play. GG MaQ! Hope to see you in the future. Kill Ya Latez

Good games from AOD , AOD had played Pipezone last week, so they had an advantage. Next time we will be ready for this map. September 14th, 1999 100k.devil.legion settles their differences with NULL
Weird night Sunday, but I guess we had fun. This was 100kdl's debut clan match on Canal Zone and we really didn't know what to expect. Both rotations were played on NULL's MSG, with them holding a decent ping advantage. And with the new IGL rules, both teams fielded 9 players. Round 1 found the two clans learning each other's strategy and ability, with relentless capping thrown in. Through the endless tide of red and blue control, NULL managed to cap all 5 cps and destroy our command center. Happily, 100kdl returned both favors a few minutes later. Fast and furious battling left a VERY close game ending with a 1 point score difference in NULL's favor. Round 2 was interesting. We started out with revised tactics and mid-way through the match we had squeezed out about a 25pt lead. Shortly afterwards, 4 guys from NULL suddenly dropped from their server. After a moment of confusion, both teams stood down in a cease-fire. With only 2 or 3 heated skirmished filling the otherwise stale and quiet TFC air, a few minutes passed and the NULL players reconnected. Suddenly, gibs were flying everywhere again. Both teams made meat slaw of the other, but 100kdl maintained their point difference. Upon both team's decision to review the 2nd round by an IGL Official, the match was ruled valid and 100kdl the victor. Sensing that the final score of round 2 was not an accurate reflection of the point advantage held by 100kdl before and after the drop of NULL's players, both teams agreed to not report the final score. Personally, I would like to thank NULL for their great sportsmanship throughout our team discussion and the talk held with IGL. NULL is one of the most skilled teams we have had the pleasure to face, and we hope to meet again under less controversial circumstances. GG NULL. [100k.d.l]DIVY
Kindred gives a first loss to San Dawgs
This was a fantastic match-up. Hearing nothing but good things about |SD|. Must say that this was a tough squad. Kudos to the San Dawgs... on to the details. R1 KiN's server - the round got off to a hell of a start. meds and soldiers as usual with a spy coming in here and there. |SD| came in with heavy O to meet the defense of Striker, Gear, Zang, & Tres. KiN's D held strong with the barage of rockets and grens exploding at every corner. KiN's offense also challeged heavily by the |SD| defense with wel placed sentries mowing down the fodder as Kin went for the flag. The match remained scoreless until about 20 minutes in 6 of the 8 |SD| guys dropped. We called up a cease fire to let them all get back on the server. Both teams civily agreed to a 10 minute game restart and played on form there. KiN changed up the O for a fast fast dash to the flag. Fooster managed to get it going with Gear finishing it off. R2 |SD| server - R2 promised to be more of the same as r1. We got Deride out on the bridge early to blow it to hell to help slow down their Offense. Deride came up big by taking out the boxes and helping to keep guns down as Foster and Sueto made ther way quickly to the flag. After many attempts Sueto snuck one out past a blaze of rockets. KiN's offense being pumped by the first cap wouldnt let down as they begin to pour it on for 2 more. Our d hand the task of holding off thier increased offensive effort and managed to do so as Cabal pitched in for the D. This match we fast paced and full of frags. My hats off to a well disciplined |SD| team.
Gods of Hate punish Agression Rangers
Round 1 started off on GoH's server...we got out of the starting gates quickly with a scout touch on the flag 10 seconds into the round. their defense was able to recover a bit after the first quick cap. We gradually worked the flag out a few more times to finish the round 4-0. the 5 man offense was more than AR could handle as well as our slight overall ping advantage. on to round 2...this was played on AR's server with pings being for the most part equal. it started out as a stalemate for the first 10 minutes or so but GoH finally started getting the flag out with a constant bombardment of scouts, medics, soldiers and a touch of spam...o yeah, and the stud hwguy trixter mowing everything down in sight. end score round 2 9-0, final - 13-0 gg to AR, twas fun and until next time..
U Suck does a Cowboys impression against Black Sun
well another kinda bottle necked map.....alot of spam but i cant say as much as a total war game at all. Our offense was all over BS for most of all the rnds. Where as there offense wasnt gettting tooo many touches. but the 1st 2 rnd ended in 0-0 ties, so we played a sudden death OT rnd with 6-6 and it tied also so we went to 5-5 and everyone was really tired and about had enuff :).....went finally our scout rushing paid off while our def help strong GG blacksun....you guys are fun to play and great sports! ----------
This match was a marathon! We stalemated the first three regulation rounds and then went into sudden-death overtime... TWICE! Black Sun had real trouble getting past U Suck's basement because of their superb soldiers. Our demomen couldn't get up the chute to spam their sentry. If our offense managed to get up their spiral, they would be waiting for us at the top. U Suck had some major trouble getting across the center area. Black Sun bled their attackers dry before they even got to the base. Once inside Black Sun's core defense finished them off. Both sides had a lot of touches, but could never bring the flags out. Alas, at around 1:00 EDT in sudden death overtime 5 vs. 5. U Suck made a major push with scouts and an engineer. Black Sun still could solve the puzzle which was their basement defense. Slowly but surely USuck coaxed Black Sun's flag out and capped. I know I can speak for everyone who played, saying that this was one of the most enjoyable matches I've every played, win or lose. Our hats go off to USuck for their great gameplay. Final score 1 - 0.
Digital Resurrection comes back on 30+
Round 1: [DiRe] sneaks a speed cap out in the first few seconds. [30+]'s offense pummelled 4 caps out of [DiRe] before the end of R1. [DiRe]'s offense was able to sneak 2 more by [30+]'s defense, giving the R1 victory to [30+], 4 caps to 3. Round 2: [DiRe]'s defense went rock-solid, denying every attempt [30+]'s excellent offense made to steal their flag. [DiRe]'s offense found the spirit to take an impressive 3 caps away from the practiced and battle-hardened [30+] defense. RESULT: DiRe wins by 2 caps. Both clans played well, and [DiRe] would like to thank [30+] for their sportsmanship, maturity, and example. A most honorable clan. Talking Goats take out Mind over Matter
This was the first match up between the Talking Goats and Mind over Matter. First round was on MoM's Cable server. The Goats had alot of lost packets and MoM had 4 or 5 guys under 75. Definate latency advantage for MoM. Our offence had constant pressure on their D. They moved back to a 6 man D and sometimes a 8 man D. Surprisingly enough on the map that definately is a defensive map, our offence was able to make lots of touches, just couldn't get it down the wind pipe. Unfortunately with about 5-10 minutes left in the first round, their server crashed. We called it a 0-0 draw for that round. 2nd round moved to the Goats server - The 3 foot rope. Our server evened out the latency alot but the goats did get a slight advantage. For some unknown reason MoM decided to stick with their 6-8 man D on this map which the goats were only using a 3 man D on. We moved to a 2 man D of myself and DarkGlobe. With our 6 man O and our spy expert MacDaddy we were able to pull off 2 caps while Mom did catch our 2 man D off guard (I am embarrased to say that I was caught watching the football game) We did recover and they didn't make it out of our flag room. This game was alot of fun and MoM put up a great defence and gave us a
great obstacle to over come. They had great attitudes and were alot of fun to
play, so that gives them a star in my book. Hope to play them again in the
near future as I imagine they will be improving with every match.
Total Harmonic Destruction unravels Cogent Alliance
After all kinds of server problems round 1 started on CA's backup server. Pings were fairly even and playable. Both sides got out of the respawns in a hurry and got quick touches. Neither squad could finish the job and the defenses settled in for the oncoming attacks. Both offenses were turned away time and time again until THD's offense broke the tie with a great spy run. ArCaNe was giving the CA defense fits as a spy. Once we got that first cap the CA defense seemed to be in disarray. We pushed on and ended up with 6 caps. The THD did an incredible job holding back the furious attack from CA. Round 1 ended 6-0 in favor of THD. Round 2 moved to cM's Beer server (after they generously offered it for our use) only to find they didn't have oppose on the server. Doh! Cursing our luck we moved back to CA's backup server. This round was an absolute defensive battle. CA's defense made some great adjustments to our attack plan and stopped us each time. The THD stood strong again holding off a massive CA medic onslaught. As time was running out I was able to pick up the flag after Dm@n2b was killed and run for my life back to our base. I capped the flag and 3 seconds later the round ended. No exaggeration. Round 2 ended 1-0 in favor of THD. Another great battle with our good friends from CA. We can't say enough about them. Server problems dragged this match out until near midnight and they didn't complain once. Everyone involved still managed to have a fun time. We look forward to playing them anytime!
----------
Well, its over, we lost. But hey, we lost to our good TFC Budies THD, so I guess its not that bad. Both rounds were played on |CA|House of Pimpage server and latency was pretty much even for both teams. Round 1: Lets just say, this wasn't the round for |CA|. Things just kinda fell apart on us. But THD was playing in full force and managed several caps. Round 2: This was the round of rounds. It doesn't get any better than this one. Both teams came out fighting and managed sever touch's. Concs and mirvs were flying everywhere. Both teams managed to pull the flag our of the flag room close to the end of the match. |CA| left the flag in THD's windows and THD managed to cap just 1 second before the end of match. Talk about timing. Excluding round 1, it was a awesome match, with some of the best guys in TFC. We thank THD for taking it easy on us the second round. HEHE And we look forward to any and all chances that we get to battle it out in the future. GG THD, you guys ROCK!
Clan Destine bounces Thunder Balls
Round 1, FIGHT! Again CD had a full boat against only 6 for the opposing team. It must be some sort of trend. We won the first round with 10 straight caps to their none. The second round it was the same with us getting only 8 caps this time!? They didn't get any. They fought well for not having a full team. They were cooperative and I hope to play them in the future.
Dancing With Death steps on Shadowrun
map was to be oppose msg server had well both clans agreed to play pings were playable, we did request and prepare for oppose, bith clans agreed the play well they had 8 first game second played with 7 to 3 guys at end of course we stopped capping by then second game they averaged 5 guys WOLF strolls by CHI
CHI never showed up. Never. Didn't ICQ me nor e-mail me. I had him on my authorization list for as long as Tresmer updated the schedule. Never showed. Elders miss SG1
SG1 forfeited.
September 13th, 1999 Digital Resurrection gives yet another take on their match with CompWorld Frag Force
This was a very good game on both clans parts. I am happy to say that i have a great deal of respect for CWFF. Despite the lag, and their missing players, we got not one complaint, and they were very mature about the whole thing. Thanks CWFF for the great match. The match started with dire rushing out to cap and hold most of the cp's, which were held for most of the match by DiRe. And it ended with DiRe ahead 319-48. Round 2 started out the same way on CWFF's server. The pings were about equal, and CWFF had 8 players to our 9, which was better considering R1, only having 6. The pipes were sploding, guns a blazing, grens a blowing... when all the smoke cleared... dire was on top with 173, while CWFF made a comeback in scores, with 81. Thankyou CWFF, and i hope we face you guys again, your a great clan. ApOkAliPs{DiRe} signing off. Kollektiv executes Urban Executioners
Round one started in Kollektiv's favor, pings were on our side, due to the opponents European location, and we were on a map, we knew all too well. The Kollektiv's 300Baud quickly took the first cap, leaving UE's defense in the dust, As the match went on, UE's defense toughened up, but that stoped The Kollektiv until we learned to adapt to their new defensive setup. The Kollektiv was able to get a cap in every few miniutes, while allowing UE few touches. The score for round 2 was 80-0, in favor of The Kollektiv. Round Two was played on Rock2, it started off slowly for both sides. For a while no one was able to get the flag out of the flag room. Around five minutes into the round, a wave of The Kollektiv's offense blew past UE's defense, a lone spy, trailed behind, as the offensive force took out all pipes and sentries in the path to the chamber. As UE's defense was occupied with them, the lone spy slipped into the Warden's Office, grabbed the key, and made it to the gas chamber. Only one more cap occurred during that match, again, the lone spy was able to slip by UE's strong defense, and make the cap. Leaving the score at 30-0, in favor of The Kollektiv. The Kollektiv would like to thank UE for a great match. You put up quite a fight, and we hope to meet again. Kollektiv assimilates Agression Rangers
CZ2 came alive tonight with the sound of points being capped and small battles being fought. TFC doesn't get much better than this. Tonight Kollektiv faced Aggression Rangers in another awesome battle. As our recent match-up went, AR gave us one hell of a game. Round one started out at Aggression Ranger's Bootcamp server. Pings were slightly swayed toward Kollektiv's side, with AR's members having a few connection problems. The round started out with a band, caping left and right on both sides. Soldiers giving it all they got to clear and defend points. For the first 20 minutes of the match, it was a neck and neck race each clan trying to gain the field advantage over the other. The round was a constant show down, at every capture point a battle was constantly ongoing. After the dust had settle from the war torn CZ2 map, Kollektiv came out with a victory, 132-95 the final score. Round 2 moved to Kollektiv's Matrix, hosted at MSG. After a few server problems with variables, pre-match started and things got going without a hitch. Each clan came out of the base rushing for their positions scouts running madly over the map caping any point that wasn't already taken. Again as in the first round, things were tight and close for the first half of the match. This time AR came back after the break with a few tricks up their sleeve and was able to pull past Kollektiv on one occasion with a few points lead. Kollektiv fought hard and was able to make a come-back toward the end of the round. Final score for this round was much closer with Kollektiv winning with a 113 score over Aggression Ranger's 106 score. Kollektiv's members would like to give a big pat on the back to Aggression Rangers for a great game and one of the best clan matches they have ever played. As always a pleasure playing you, hope to meet up again! Clan Erinyes repeats against Kindred
We had another great match against Kindred, winning one round, losing the next, but coming out on top in the end. Round one was on the groovy [CE] TMAL server, holding the 9v9 without a hitch, and providing fairly close pings overall. For the first ten minutes the scores were even until we changed our sniper to a flag runner and began holding points a bit better. Just before the midway point CE capped all 5 points. This helped us relax a bit, and by the end of the round we had capped all 5 points two more times. The round ended 203-89 in CE's favor. Round two was a different story! The round started a bit late as KiN searched for a working server, but eventually we were all set. By prior agreement, this round was 8v8. KiN had a slight ping advantage and right away began to show what they could do with it. At the half way point of the match KiN was already about 60 points ahead, having capped all 5 points a couple times. They were on pace to overcome the first round deficit and steal a win. Plenty of sweating was taking place in the CE camp as we made minor adjustments to try and slow the KiN steamroller. Somehow CE managed to cap all 5 cp's late in the round, and there was much rejoicing. But amazingly, within a minute, KiN grabbed all 5 back and put the pressure on again. Ultimately, time ran out before KiN could complete their comeback. Whew! They took the round, but not by enough. We've had a few close matches in the past, but none of them were as nerve wracking as this nailbiter. Great game KiN....Thankfully we'll get some time off before battling you again. :-)
clan Maylstryx doesn't play ][nsurrection
][nsurrection is no longer in the league so cM gets a technical forfiet win. Coup de Grace plays a free one with Army of Darkness
Well, one of the first 9x9 IGL matches, and the results were mixed. Round1, on CdG's mid-US server, seemed to hold up well with 18 ppl playing. Ping averages were about 210 for CdG and 335 for AoD, however, there was a router problem AoD traced to Chicago which caused two of their players to ping in the 500-700 range, at the best. The round went reasonably well, with a couple of command centers being destroyed by CdG, and a couple of all points captured by CdG. On the AoD front, WierdBird played a superb soldier, keeping CdG tied up at cp2 the whole round. For round2, we switched to AoD's DSL server and unfortunately, either the network connection, or the server was insufficient for the 18 of us. Pings rose to 700-1000 for most everyone when shooting was ongoing. At this point, AoD decided they weren't excited enough about this, their last round in the IGL, and decided to give up the 2nd round rather than return to the CdG server, or scramble to find another server that late. An excellent match, and we thank AoD for sticking it out to play us, even though they quit the IGL. On the 9x9 angle, I'm not sure what conclusions to draw. We did prove the CdG server itself was quite adequate for 18 ppl in round1. Bandwidth was sufficient for 18 ppl. Round2 is inconclusive to me as to exactly what the problem was, maybe AoD will have more information on their server status for round2. I guess the good news is, we did successfully have a round run with 9x9 teams, and CdG endorses moving forward with 9x9 for the IGL. ---------
Previous to this week, we thought we wouldn't be playing an IGL match because 2 weeks before we had contacted IGL telling them we were leaving the ladder. The admins must have overlooked it because when I was contacted by Barker[CdG] for an IGL match I was definately surprised. Anyway, we are not the type of clan to just say forfeit the game and leave CdG with no one to play for Sunday night, so we decided to just play it though. Onto the match...Round 1 was to be held on CdG's server, when we got there, serveral of our members were well over 500 latency, not to mention our 2 members with the best connections pinging out at over 1000. We tried damn hard to just play through the harsh freezing and lag that we were getting, but CdG is just too good of a team to do that with. They had no problems getting into our base and destroying the command center multiple times, with our flag runners mis-timing conc jumps with their unnatural ping, it was pretty much hopeless. CdG ran over us by about 100 points, 182-84. We were to take round 2 to {AOD}~DOA hoping that we would all ping better, but that was not the case...our server showed that it could definately not hold 18 players for this match. At this point, we were so frusterated with the lag problems and not even supposed to be playing this match on IGL, we decided to give CdG the win after the 1st round. Rescheduling matches is happening way to often for us and we have 2 other ladders that we are committed to. I only hope that next week that I don't find an email from a team in IGL telling us we have a match :) GG to CdG and best of luck to them on IGL. Hopefully we'll meet again under better circumstances. Kill Ya Latez
Uranium 238 debuts against Mind over Matter
In the debut of two new IGL clans, things got off to a slow start as we tried to get organized. Round one was on U-238's Clan Only II server, which didn't seem to have any problems with 18 players. Pings favored U-238, about 130 for U-238 and approximately 180 for Mind Over Matter. Neither clan knew what to expect, and the starting action was fast and furious. U-238 capped all 5 cps several times, possibly because MoM's 9th player had troubles staying in the game. Final Score : 370 - 47 Round Two was on their Canadian server, where we averaged a 230 ping to their 180. It finally dawned on us that their 9th player was having connection problems, so we dropped a player, but the damage was already done. Final score : 290 - 73 Kudos to MoM for a great match. We look forward to learning the IGL ropes with them in the coming weeks. Brotherhood of Soldiers softens Steel Maelstrom
Well RD1 began right on time, each clan with 9 guys in and ready to rock. The server was the SMS Sympatico ADSL in Ottawa Ontario Canada, which gace good pings to all with SMS having a slight advantage. It got up to a quick start BoS capping 4 and gaining ground inch by inch on #5, eventually winning it over. It went on all RD1 that way with both SMS primarily stuck on D. Though all 5 were never captured by SMS we got a run for our money when we had 3 guys drop at the same moment (dont ask) but once they re-entered our play was back to normal. RD2 moved to our new experimental server at VA Tech where pings were GREAT (you have no idea how happy I am about that esp. cause it was 9v9) with no advantage for anyone. We got off to a quick start capping all 5 numerous times...but then it happened. All of a sudden SMS was on the offencive capping 4 points and putting HEAVY pressure on our last point, we struggled for the rest of the match and they never let up. Eventually they capped it and as if it had never ended we were in the same position once again, but they just didnt have enough time. Over all this was a GREAT match and I would really like to thank SMS for coming ready to play, displaying excelent sportsmanship, and never losing hope. I mean you have no idea how scared I was at the end (esp. after watching Redskins lose a 3 touchdown lead and blow the game in the 4rth quarter against Dallas today) that we wouldnt hold. Thanks.
WOLF bites Special Defense Unit
Round 1 started on SDU's Chicago server. It crashed a couple of times but the match got under way eventually. Its always fun playing CZ2 for clan matches, verry intence! SDU got off to a verry good start, capping 3 outta the 5 points but WOLFS's offence got in the beat of things getting the command points back. SDU had a nice D setup at CP5 and it took WOLF a while to cap that point. Eventually WOLF go it, bringing the gap between WOLF and SDU even further. It was neck and neck the first 10-15 mins of the match and the capture of all command points really helped WOLF out a TON! The match stopped before the 30 mins was up due to lag problems on both sides. Final Score For Round One: 233-66 After the short match on SDU's server, everyone headed off to the Hunting Grounds hosted by WOLF. WOLF made some lineup changes and got some new faces into the game. It was a good intence match, for the whole 30 mins it was a decently close game. The margin was about 30-40 points at the most. Once again WOLF had a great defence holding CP3 and CP4. SDU went with a couple players in their CP5 to make it tougher on us. In the end we broke free and capped all points making the margin even more. Props to SDU for holding us and keeping us on our toes. Final Score For Round Two: 192-55 Clan SDU are really cool people, didnt complain any. Im looking forward to playing SDU again, no matter what map - they give it their all! Good game guys!
Digital Resurrection zaps CompWorld Frag Force
Round 1: DiRe wins by a large margin. CWFF was severely shorthanded, playing with only 6 men, and an average ping of about 450. Yet never a word was spoken of lag, peeps, server, or fairness. CWFF stood their ground as well as could be axpected against the odds they faced. DiRe takes off it's collective helmet to these mature and honorable players. Round 2: DiRe wins 2 "total caps" to 0. Again CWFF came out with impressive fervor and maturity, but was turned back by DiRe's merciless onslaught of fire and excellent communication. The honor was our CWFF. Fantastic game, fantastic opponent.
TRoD actually plays WTC
Thank goodness. This was the very first match we played that the opposing team did not quit after Rd1. And they actually attacked as well. Both rounds were played on our server which was laggier then normal with us having the ping advantage. RD1 on Well, started with a quick cap by WTC. After that our defense settled down, and shut the door. Our offense did a very good job of keeping flags coming back to our base. Nothing to note here. We win 10-1 RD2 Was on Rock2, and this map was much closer than it should've been. Our biggest problem was defense on this map. We had players that didn't know "exactly" what to do, or how to spy check. Our tunnel was left open, and spies were everywhere. Let me tell you, that is no way to play this map. Rock2 is a defensive dream and to have our defense in panic had me shaking my head. Anyway our offense pulled through for us today and kept our team with the lead. GG WTC
