TFC Results September 25th, 1999 Clan Erinyes holds back Hate Inc.
It was a San Diego showdown tonight as CE took on Hate once again. Round one was on our [CTS]TMAL server, where Hate had a slight ping advantage. The map was Canalzone, and almost right out of the blocks CE began capping and holding points. We jumped into an early lead after capping all the points and managed to keep the pressure up the entire round. When the whistle blew the score was 303-62 in our favor. Round two was on Hate's server, where pings were just about the same as at TMAL. This time the map was Rock and it was Hate who put the pressure on early with quite a few flag touches. Our D managed to keep the flag covered while our offense struggled to break through the Hate setup. Eventually, at about the half-way point of the round, we managed to get the key into the courtyard and run it into the gas chamber from there. Hate reset their D and it was another ten minutes of frustration before we managed to get it loose again and set off the gas. The round ended 2-0 in our favor. We thank Hate for the good match and look forward to meeting them again on the battlefield in the future.
Project X brings up the past against Black Sun
The match was not played due to conflicts caused by Black Sun in setting up the match. Project X (SFD) leader FullAutoStyle agreed to use one of Black Sun's two servers, and had the team test the server, our members liked the server, so finding a back up was not important. Once we got to the server how ever, the server had changed, and BlackSun's suppposid 28.8k players were pinging better then our Cable and ADSL players. Fair? Changing to a unplayable server without informing the person who agreed to the ip? I guess the OGL over looked making that a rule... Oh well... We were looking forward to a fair match, not all the rude comments BlkSun made while trying to work out the problem. Decoys of Hostility talk over their match with WOLF
Was a good game..but WOLF by far had the game the first round. Im not giving excuses...but this was our first match as a clan, in a long time after our break up that we had.. can only get better from here. Thanks for the game WOLF.
September 24th, 1999 Cogent Alliance resists Army of Darkness
Well tonight's match was interesting to say the least. Mega latency problems all over the place, to include several drop's. All three round were played on [THD] Go Bucks Server and latency was pretty much in no ones favor. Round 1 started out with both defense's going up quick. AOD went with a very heavy defense, which kind of surprised us. But |CA| was able to manage 4 sneaky caps. As |CA|'s defense battled a shutout. Round 2 started off interesting to say the least. Both teams took off cap command points as fast as they could. Then AOD stepped it up and managed 3 all caps. Most of what I saw was body parts flying everywhere, allot of them mine. Round 3 became a capping dream for |CA|. Once again AOD put up a very heavy defense. But it wasn't enough to stop |CA|'s offense. |CA| started pulling out the flag and pulling out the flag and pulling out the flag...... AS |CA|'s defense held strong, but not strong enough. Allowing AOD to pull out one cap. It was another fun and exciting match, with allot of twist and turns, But both clans pressed on with minimal complaints and played their hearts out. Until next time AOD! :)
September 23rd, 1999 Ride The Lightning trots past Digital Assassins
Well what a night. We came into the match looking to get back into the top ten, and we ended the match with the #7 spot :) DA was very patient for first round when one of our recruits did not have the map and was downloading Round 2 found us at our server for our "bread and butter" map,CZ2. We came in and was able to only get one "all points capped" but we were able to keep DA from getting one of their own. We took the round in a very close decision. Well, the tie breaker was Rock2. I was fearing a tie and a never ending match and about 25 min into it, it looked as though my fears were gonna be realized. DA had so many touches and runs, that I hardly spent any time at or near 'warden's office". They had a very organize offense scheme going and we were doing everthing we could to keep them from pull'in the switch. At that point, are offense pulled the key and made a claen run to the gas chamber. Our defense held strong and the map ended with RTL on top and back into the top ten of OGL.
DA is a great clan who are highly skilled and all around first class players. Thank you for the game.

Kollektiv calms SiGiL
Kollektiv had a chance to play their third OGL match against SiGiL on Tuesday night. An enjoyable match was had by all last night despite the connection problems that seemed to have stemmed from the hurricane.
Round 1 was held on SiGiL's server since the Kollektiv's Matrix server had bad ping times do to the break in the internet backbone. Pings were not so good but mostly playable on both sides. Both teams came rushing from their respawns itching to make everyone die from gas! It was a mad caping race, both teams pulling off caps and touches every minute of the match. It was a heated battle, SiGiL's offense was able to confuse Kollektiv's defense on several occasions. Round ended with Kollektiv 120, SiGiL 90.
Round 2 got started on SiGiL's server, but during the break Kollektiv reorganized it's roster to let some other members play. This time the map was 2Fort. Kollektiv had a very strong defense on this map, and were prepared for anything SiGiL threw at them. Kollektiv were consistent with moving the flag out of SiGiL's base and making repetitive caps against their defense. Round 2 ended with Kollektiv winning 90-10.
Great game SiGiL, keep up the good work and you will go far.
Black Sun doesn't play Project X
Well, Black Sun showed up to play and it seemed as if Project X was ready to play as well. After about 20 minutes of a prematch warm up, suddenly Project X members started complaining that their pings were too high and disconnected. According to the server no one had pings higher than 350 and no one disconnected abnormally. Somehow their leaders think that this is not a forfeit. Considering that Project X failed to provide a server of their own and was relying on Black Sun to run a server for both rounds, this is strange behavior. I'm afraid that they won't get much support from the OGL rules which state: "The risk of disconnects and unplayable lag is theoretically about equal for both sides, so those things aren't grounds for suspending or replaying any match unless both leaders agree otherwise." I guess Black Sun has been spoiled playing high-calibre, top ranked clans which always are ready to play no matter what the net conditions are. We were really looking forward to playing this match because we have a bye week on STA. Oh well, on to the next opponent. Final result: forfeit by Project X [BlkSun]Trotski Kindred sneaks past Total Harmonic Destruction
Well what can I say? Great Match THD. It was a great battle and worthy of a championship match.
Round 1: Played on THD's server, KiN was besieged from the opening bell. Our D stood tall with some fancy gren work allowing only a few touches. THD was able to grab our flag and move it to the flag room entrance but Striker and Zang stalled the surge and our flag finally returned. On the Offensive side, we were able to touch the flag but kept having our hands slapped (it was like I was 16 all over again). The THD defense closely mirrored our own efforts and we were denied any substantial gains. The offense resorted to some fairly creative measures, all of which failed to produce any type of sustained relay. Very intense round. Round 1 ends in a shutout 0-0
Round 2: Played on KiN's server, this round found us changing roster spots on the fly. Relying on some of our lighter class specialists to break through the THD defense. KiN enjoyed a slight latency advantage in most cases although THD did have one player drop early in the match. With the changes in place, KiN leapt to the flag almost immediately. It was a pack mentality with the lighter O classes following the destruction of the heavier O classes. The battle for the THD flag was fierce as it inched up the spiral for that first cap. There were some great relays and incredible individual efforts put forth by Sueto, Tak, and the brothers Cab/Kab. Gearman also jumped in for some added Offensive power. Round 2 ends 6-0.
I love this map. It's a great crossover from TF and very enjoyable to play. THD pushed us hard the entire match. It was an intense and immensely enjoyable fight. KiN has yet to face a controversial or untenable situation when dealing with any clan from the TOPTEN League. It has been our pleasure to play here. Thanks to THD and the TOPTEN League. (roll intro, Queen : We Are The Champions)
--------
Round 1 was on our server. Pings were even. Very intense battle. Neither team got very close to capping. The furthest either got the flag was to the bottom of the spirals. Great job by both defensive squads.
We went into round 2 on KiN's server thinking it would be more of the same. Unfortunately we were having some latency problems. This didn't help matters. Of course neither did KiN subbing in Sueto and Cabal :-) Anyway...they kicked us pretty good this round. Final ended up being 6-0.
Was a challenge and a privilege as always to battle KiN. Frustrating, but fun. We're at least giving them good games now :-)
GG KiN
Army of Darkness stops Coup de Grace
What a great night! A great match against a great team on BAM!. This was by far the biggest match for us on the Top Ten Tourney, being given the wild card spot and getting a chance to play the #1 seed in the Tourney. It was more than we could have imagined...anyway onto the match...
Round 1 was played on CdG's server, last time we were there, several of our members had router problems and had terrible ping, it wasn't bad at all tonight as pings were good for both teams. Our offense fought hard and managed to squeeze into the flag room and work the flag up the stairs slowly, yet surely and eventually capped. CdG tried doing the same, getting many touches on our flag, and managed to escape our swarming defense and cap to tie up the round. As the round wrapped up, we were left holding CdG's flag and running out of their base. Too late though its a tie, 10-10.
Round 2 moved to the great neutral server of Testmonkeys Monkey Den II. After a little fumbling with prematch which wasn't on at first, we got it going and the round started. Pings were as even as could be here.
Our offense started off like last time and managing to relay the flag out and cap fairly early on in the round, it didn't stop there and we were able to sneak in and steal CdG's flag 3 more times. CdG's offense did all it could against our defense, but we sucked it up and made a stand, keeping CdG off the board with no caps. Final score for round 2 ended up a 40-0 victory for {AOD}.
This match was a perfect example of how matches should be played. CdG is one hell of a good team and always has class. Nothing but good fun here. We look forward to playing CdG again anytime. GG!

Cogent Alliance avoids Crowbar Swinging Idiots
Round 1 was played on |CA|HomeField and latency was pretty much in |CA|'s favor. The match started out hot and heavy. Both teams defense's went up quick, but |CA|'s offense managed to get through and pull out several caps. CSI was having some hard times getting through our defense, until one of our key defensive players dropped and CSI was able to pull out 2 caps.
Round 2 went to CSI's server and latency was just slightly in |CA|'s favor once again. This one started out very fast, as |CA|'s offense was in the flag room and pulling the flag before CSI's defense was able to even set up. Then it became a relay, as our soldiers and spies were pulling the flag out and passing them off to our Scouts. It got to a point were 2 different |CA| defensive members even managed a cap or two.
CSI played hard and fought well. They put up a tuff battle and were all around good sports. We would like to thank them for a great match. Until next time!
Ride The Lightning turns down Dancing with Death
Well first off let me extend my finest sentiments to Clan DWD These guys are
up and coming so be forewarned. This match was your basic knockdown drag out
frag fest. DWD had thoroughly entrenched there flag behind a veritable
gauntlet of defenders drew pictures of all our moms naked bent over Eric
Estrada's lap on there flag and told us to come "get some". Well RTL pushed
ahead and DWD was more the happy to dish out all the lead we could eat.
About 20 minutes in we broke though played a little touch and frag then
finally pulled out the cap to seal the big W.
Game 2

U Suck rocks Assassins for Hire
well after finnaly getting to there server they didnt have the sta configs running and couldnt get friendly fire on so we went to our server.....played all 1 man def after about 5-10 mins into games and then went to there server
again to try to get FF on and map to rock....but afh seemed to like messing around on 2fort and not changing maps or even setting pm up, they just kept trying to start 2fort and play from there..........they need to read the sta page and set there stuff up and be a little more ready for there next games instead of trying to get by with making clan agree on other maps and settings it is much easier and faster!
Digital Assassins kill Mind over Matter
The match started 15 minutes late, as we were all waiting for mOm to field the required 6 players for the match. When the match did start, however, it was our offense against their 6-man Defense. The DA Defense were only challenged 4 times in the first round. The DA offense managed to cap 6 times against that 6-man Defense that mOm threw up against them. Map score: 6-1 in favor of DA.
The second round was played on mOm's cable modem server, and latency was high for everyone. The rate rule came into effect on mOm's server, so they were all toned down on the DA side within 3 minutes. Expectedly, mOm fielded 8 players at home and kept the DA Defense busy all map. With team latency soaring to 500+ at times for DA, we kept picking away at their Defense and came away with a cap. mOm also capped once, denying any chance for DA to throw a shutout. Map score: 1-1. Final score: 7-1 in favor of DA.
GG, mOm. Good luck in the future.

Agression Rangers wake up Silent Night Killers
SNK was down 2 players but they wanted to tough it out. They hung in there for two rounds and for that they deserve credit.
30+ endures NULL
First thing first. Hats off to NULL they absolutely rocked.
Round 1: Null came with all speed and was able to get 2 quick caps before the Bengay settled in and 30+'s Defense settled down. All the while 30+'s Offense did an incredible job against a ruthless NULL Defense and was able to squick out 2 caps of their own. Final 2-2
Round 2: This round was just one big massive blood bath. At one time I counted 12 packs in our yard from all the death. 10 of them were mine :) NULL tried all different combo of classes as did 30+ to no avail. The D's on both sides held strong. Final 0-0
OT: Yeah baby this is what it's all about. Fast, furious pace and awesome team work. Some how 30+ got the key in the yard and just kept the train a moving. Chopper[30+] was able to fly pass the killer NULL D and slam the key home about 10 mins into OT. Everyone on O did a superb job against a relentless Defense as well as the Defense being able to hold against a fearsome NULL O. Great job 30+ and NULL. NULL is definitely a 1st Class Clan
Talking Goats introduce Dancing With Death
The Talking Goats got to play one of the fairly new clans to the STA tonight, Dances with Death.
First round was played on their server (they share a server with BlackSun) and damn it is a great server. Both teams averaged about the same latency of under 200.
Our Medic Offence of Gungadin, Beast_Of_Aargh, MacDaddy and CrazyHorse dominated their Defence. While 2 were bringing the Key into the GC the other 2 were getting ready to run with the key again. I talked to their leader afterwards and he said they were totally lost as to what to defend.
As for our Defence, Our newest Goat - GoatRoast got to play in his first match with the goats and definately not his last. He setup with myself (Redrum) and we dominated their Offence. We did have defensive backup of Thez and DarkGlobe but they got very little action in round1.
As for round2, We decided to stay on their server as it was working so good. Our Offence again dominated their D with the same tatics and a few minor twists. As for our D, they definately gave us alot more pressure. They did get their grouping together and got alot of touches on the key. This is when Thez and DarkGlobe got quite a bit of action.
I have to say that DwD have great attitudes and they thanked us for the match as they said they learned lots. I appreciate that they stayed for both rounds as I believe alot of the other new clans dropped out after 1 round. With practice and keeping their good attitudes these guys are definately going to get alot better and start pushing their way into the leader board.
Total Harmonic Destruction invades Fraternal Order of Moof
Round 1 was on the Foom2 server. Pings were decidedly in favor of FOoM. Both teams busted out of their bases and got quick touches but were unable to cap right away. THD's offense snatched the first cap a few minutes into the match. Back home the THD defensive trio held off all attempts by FOoM to release the gas. Caps by THD were plentiful and pretty much steady. By the end of round 1 it was 105-0 in favor of THD.
Round 2 was on THD's Go Bucks server. Pings were basically even. It was really more of the same. We got off to an early lead and kept expanding it. About 20 minutes into the round FOoM informed us their packet loss was "unplayable" and that they were forfeiting the rest of round 2. As you can see in the screenshot their team latency was 192...huh. Oh well. Round 2 was 90-0 when they quit.
Clan Destine holds off WOLF
The first round had both Clans with full teams. The first map was a tough one. I couldn't even get out of my own base without losing half my health! We mounted our assault with as much precision as possible. It worked well enough to get us one cap for that round. WOLF played their heart's out but couldn't get a cap for the first round. The second round CD got 2 caps and Wolf tried again but couldn't get through our defense. We were worried that they would pour it on the second round to bust through. They did! But they couldn't move it far enough for a cap. They were extremely tough to play and were great sports. --Core
San Dawgs run around Elders
After some communication problems between leaders, the match got underway. Both rounds were played on the SD server because of technical problems on the Elder Server. SD enjoyed about a 100-125 ping advantage.
Round 1 - SD started capping right away and never looked back. The Elder D never got in place after the caps started coming. Final after Round 1 - 19-0
Round 2 - Started after a 10 minute break. The Elders Defense had made some good adjustments during that break. The SD offense couldn't get rolling like it did the first round. The Elders snuck one out at the beginning of the map. Our D solidified again and kept the key out of the GC although they get MANY touches on the key. Round 2 - 7-1
Elders played a great game. They really adjusted well at the break between rounds. This is an up and coming clan. Good game to all.
Clan Erinyes has fun with SiGiL
Rd 1 started on TMAL with pings being fairly stable for both clans. The rd started with rushes by both clans but neither paying off with a touch. Both defenses then settled in for the 30 mins. The CE offense pulled a touch early in game and eventually made it's way into the SiGiL gas chamber after many tries, meanwhile the SiGiL offense worked our defense big time, getting the key as far as the chamber but our piper/eng combo was able to hold them at bay. The Rd ended with CE ahead 7-0.
RD 2, let me just start with saying rd 2 was a pure adrenaline rush that said onto the details. RD 2 moved to SiGiL's server where pings were a little higher but about equal overall, I think we had a slight ping advantage. The rd started out normal with both Clans making mad dashes for the key and like rd 1 neither hitting pay dirt. Again the defenses settled in and begin fending off wave after wave of incoming offense. Eventually both clans made headway and got touches the CE offense was first to pull a cap though. Around the 3rd or 4th cap by the CE offense (around the 12-15 minute mark) 4 of our players dropped, 2 defense 2 offense. SiGiL asked if we were fine and not wanting to make the match last any longer than need be we said we were ok and played on. At this point we pulled a guy from o to d while we had anyone who could connect try to we were able to hold them for 5-6 mins with ZenD (mad props saved the key many times), Elim (kept the incoming o weak for ZenD and our eng) and our engineer on d and rex on offense making touches and a couple caps. We eventually started getting people back in the game only to lose the 4 guys we had again then slowly just brought in whoever could connect. We were at 6 CE's when SiGiL made a mad dash and got the gun and took out our soldier at the gas allowing them to cap. About 3 mins later we finally were back up to 8 and had a full offense going again determined to make up for lost time they started making mad dashes of their own that paid off. The Rd ended CE 7 SigiL 1.
Final score 14-1 in favor of CE. We'd like to thank SiGiL for the great game, and if there's some kind of MVP ZenD deserves it, he saved our key numerous times.
][nsurrection bounces ThunderBalls
Our first match in the STA was against ThunderBalls. It seamed that not much was going for -TB- as they had server problems and had to play on our server not to mention that they only had 7 players. Even with all that they managed to touch our flag once proving that they indeed have ThunderBalls! But in the end there can be only one, and that was ][nsurrection 135-0. -TB- realizing that they were mere mortals in a land of gods, admitted defeat and forfeited the second round and said they were going to drop out of the STA as well. Thanks for the game -TB- and we wish you luck in your next league!
Cogent Alliance beats Expert Nocturnal Souls
Well, we didn't know what to expect from this group so fresh to the STA, so we were pleasantly suprised to find them with enough people and on time. It went downhill from there...
We ran about and mixed things up a bit before finally getting the match underway. We had the ping advantage, but since they didn't have a dedicated server of their own at the time, we had to use ours. The round started off quickly enough, however we soon noticed a certain lack of enemy players coming to our side... We continued to pressure their DEF, and managed to score 7 caps during round 1.
After round 1 was over, I attempted to get in contact with the ENs leadership, to arrange a test of their listenserver to gauge the potential to use their server for round 2. However, their leadership was apparently AWOL, and I was unable to find them at all, even with [TG]Redrum assisting me in locating them (thx Redrum), so after much digging around, we assumed round 2 a forfeit in our favor.
Although I don't know what might've been wrong with ENs, I hope they get things straight for next time.
Sorry it couldn't have been a little more enjoyable...
Digital Resurrection shatters Rest in Pieces
This was a great game. The match was played on DiRe's Volcano server. And pings seemed favorable to all.
In r1, DiRe started off with a very efective scout rush, and managed to pull off one cap. Then with a combination of our concing medics, and spies, we managed one more before the round ended. Our defense held off [R.I.P] with great efficiency, hardly letting the key ever get by the yard.
In r2, DiRe was a little more aggressive, and we charged in [R.I.P]'s base with one thing in mind. A WIN. DiRe pulled off 6 caps throughout the course of the game with scouts/medics/spies. And our defense held [R.I.P] to only one cap.

Army of Darkness violates VYL
Ok, before I start this write-up, I apologize if it seems like I am "bashing" VYL, but everything I say is based on what I witnessed tonight. From the beginning I knew this match was going to be trouble, with their leader trying to convince me to play on their east coast server for the entire match, we found out why.
Round 1 was supposed to be played at testmonkeys monkey den II, however there was miscommunication and we moved it to {AOD}'s new server, The Pitch. Heres where the problems start. When we first selected Monkeys, VYL's leader was argumentive and wanted to play on the Pitch on the first place. When we got on, pings were VERY even. However, VYL immediately was jumping all over us on how their pings are to high and its not fair. They are an east coast team playing on our west coast server w/250-300 ping average and complaining about it.
{AOD}'s offense got off to its usual good start on 2fort, capping pretty quick, and managed another one after that, on the other side, VYL simply could not penetrate our defense as we shut them out and won 20-0.
We moved to their server now, where they were content, however changed the password on us several times causing some problems. When we all got on, the map was totalwar and it was a brutal beating laid out by VYL...We had never played the map and it showed, one of our players dropped leaving it an 8 on 7 situation and VYL just simply took advantage capping 10 times and only allowing us a measely 1. Pings here were about the same as on our server only in reversed roles and subtract their lanned up player. No complaints from {AOD}, we accept our loss there and move on to the tiebreaker.
Back to The Pitch for Round 3 the tiebreaker. CZ2 was the appropriate choice since we don't want to have any match sagas again. We fought off a tough defense and managed to complete capture twice and holding VYL at bay with our defense. {AOD} wins 170-58.
After the final map, VYL told us they are going to refuse to report their loss to OGL and complain about their 300 ping average on our server, even though ours was about 200-250. It was a very even match throughout the game and I see no reason why they are doing this to us...they just need an excuse I guess because it is their first loss.
A quote from one of their members what that we were cheaters because of our ping. I hope the whole TFC community is laughing with us on this whole fiasco. We have several screenshots that show how evenly pinged this match was also.
GG to VYL, hope you get your way next time!

Kindred collects from Kollektiv
finally we don't have to play [CE] (much love and beer to you :P)...
instead we had to match wits with the |{ollektiv. The commrades came with thier game on. But KiN showed up refusing to be assimilated (yeah that joke is gonna get old). After some confusion of the r1 server we started a little late which is cool with both clans. We decided to use the KiN server to start. so here we go...
R1 - Started with HWs doing the door damage to get the O out in a hurry. meds and scout came flying over the useless barrier in the middle. Soldiers soon followed with rockets blazing to try and get Striker[KiN] out of the front to make some room. Fooster and Cabal managed to start the flag runs going. KiN began to mount thier offensive with Kablooie and Gear pitching in. after the smoke cleared KiN was up on R1.
R2 - with R1 behind us the server issue reared its ugly head again. The MSG server was going to be used. both clans jumped on ready to waste some shells and expend the grens. not a sec after both clans dropped the doors the server reset. with no notice to either clan. after some debate, -|{-Kodiak offered to play on our server for r2. we off to another round on the KiN server. despite the slight ping advantage pings were high hundreds to sub-200 pings for both sides. match resumed where r1 left off with the same action. KiN had to switch out Fooster[KiN](since he had to watch pron) for Seretogis[KiN] - the leet scoot - along with Sueto making the flag runs. The offense seemed to explode as we noticed the defensive change by -|{-. -|{- sent on more O to keep our defense busy. R2 ended the same as r1.
intense action over all in this match. don't let the score fool you. this clan can make a difference in the league. things will definitely be different with the new ranking structure. -|{- also pointed out the entity update of the flag running going to half speed, but accepted to play without that since we were a little confused about what was actually correct version of the map to play. GG to all and beers and vodka all around.
Agression Rangers unplug Digital Resurrection
DiRe and =AR= met for the 1st time in TFC on everyone's favorite schizophrenic map, Darkness. Both rounds were played on =AR='s Citadel which seemed to favor DiRe with a ping advantage. Gonna have to work on that server's cfg files. 1st round DiRe came at the =AR= base from every direction at once. Their medics demonstrated real skill in conc jumping to the red flag from above and below and their sonofabitch spy spread the seeds of confusion once the flag started moving and kept it moving. After 30 minutes of being diseased and drugged the =AR= defense was seemingly in shambles. We thought these guys were good and now we knew it. In the meantime =AR='s offense kept working thru the stubborn DiRe defense hoping to keep it close. They did.
Second round =AR= committed to making up the deficit but somehow DiRe was in our base before the =AR= defenders could reach their postions. This time we regrouped and reset the defense while shifting the attack into high gear. As time wound down =AR= made up the deficit and then some. The round ended and the score under "showscores" read "28-28" while on console and on the server log it was correctly stated to be 28-14. DiRe quickly acknowledged the correct score and congratulated =AR= for a hard earned win. Class acts like DiRe are the reason =AR= still keeps fraggin.
Uranium 238 takes down Brotherhood of Soldiers
Round one started on our U-238 Match server, where Clan U-238 sported a distinct latency advantage. Both sides patiently waited for the walls to come down, since we both started with light classes. We got a quick lead and kept it through the whole match, though several times their spies crept through our defenses and robbed us of our precious blue flag. Bastards :) Final Score: 28 - 18
Round two got off to a SLOW start, as their server crashed and they had to scramble to avoid having to play on our server again. We waited well over 30 minutes, and offered to play the second match on our server, but they politely, but adamantly, refused. Eventually they got the match started, and the rest of our team joined in as they grabbed 3 quick caps. [U-238]Tecum-Uman rallied the team together and we got back within 2 points by the end of the match. Final Score : 19 - 21
Highlights of the match included a brief spamfest in front of the BoS base in round 2, as our 3 demomen found themselves unloading all of the ordinance they could carry in a desperate attempt to see the flag return to base. In the end, they capped it, but we felt like we made them earn it.
It was a good match, blemished a little by some technical difficulties and connection problems, but a lot of fun for everyone. Thanks BoS for a great match, and we're looking forward to our next encounter.

RD 1 started on the recently relocated CE/CTS TMAL with pings looking pretty good for everyone. Both clans broke out early and made a quick dash for the flags both to no avail. Both clans then settled in for the haul. Eventually the CE o pulled out a cap and one of our d made runs occasionally keeping their outside soldier off guard. Meanwhile the 100kdl O was making headway and moving our flag, our offense kept up the caps and 100kdl capped around the 12 min mark and followed by another quick one. The rd ended with 100kdl getting another around the 25 min mark and having our flag loose. Rd 1 16-6 in favor of CE.
RD 2 went back to our server upon 100kdl's request. Both teams again broke out early and 100kdl was the first to touch. The CE offense was a little slow in getting their first touch but eventually did it right as 100kdl was about to cap our flag the first time. 100kdl's offense was determined to close the gap and kept us on our toes with some really sweet cj's across to the flag and taking out the gun. Meanwhile the CE offense eventually got into gear and started capping. Both teams seemed to cap at the same time for a couple mins eventually the CE defense sacked it up and started holding. At the end both clans had an outgoing cap but the timelimit hit. Rd 2 ended 17-10 in favor of CE.
Final Score 33-16, it was a pleasure to play 100kdl and we look forward to seeing them again.
Coup de Grace tops clan Maylstryx
This evening Coup de Grace faced off against clan Maylstryx on Darkness. Since our last time around on this map, we've gained many new faces. The last time we played it in IGL, Tubaboy had just joined up with CdG and wasn't playing full time yet. We also gained a great medic, Postman. Well enough history, other than CdG hasn't liked this map in the past cuz we generally scored terribly on it.
Round 1: We started off with a bang. Both sides brought down their walls at virtually the same time. We headed out to the enemy base to stiffly get rejected. Not to be outdone, our defense did the same. After about 5 minutes of a stalemate, we managed to break through and bring home the first cap. We started a couple of relays and things went hairy for both sides. CdG at times held a 3 to 4 cap lead. All 4 players on offense brought home a cap, plus our defensive engineer, BarkerJr brought one home thanks to trigger happy ShadowRunner killing me with the flag! Final score for Round 1 was a close 14-10 (2 cap lead!)
In Round 2 we headed off to cM's server (Beer!) and went to work. This time around we changed up our offense strat to try and hit them even faster in the opening minutes. It paid off for us! As we quickly jumped to a 6-0 lead. Both sides kept capping on a regular basis from that point on. cM at times brought it within 2 caps, but our offense kept on pressuring them and finding holes, getting some quick caps. We did have one worry though about the possiblity of it being a close game when Postman capped on the center part once, cuz a mistimed conc jump landed him on the 1 point cap zone (oops!) However in the end we were able to hold them off and CdG came away with a round 2 victory of 21-16.
My hats go off to cM who were great sports throughout the entire evening. I believe this is our 1st win over the clan, so here's to what becomes a friendly rivalry in the future! Final score 35-26.
On the server note, another banner night for the 9vs9 format the IGL has bravely adopted. The CdG server ran quite well on 9vs9, and the cM server ran even better. The match was an overall success, spam was not a problem, and lag did not enter the picture. This bold move to 9vs9 is an excellent way for the IGL to differentiate itself from other leagues. And these maps are simply a lot more fun with a 9 person team. No more having to scrimp offense or defense to bolster up the other half. Put that extra person where-ever you need him!
NULL capitalizes on WOLF
This match was interesting. Most of NULL did not have the ent update to make flag runners move 1/2 speed. So 15-20 minutes of downloads/file sends later we're ready to go. During this time Wolf was very professional and allowed us to get the neccessary files. Round 1 started with Wolf breaking down the doors early. The flags started moving for Wolf rather early. The NULL O had problems with the sentry guns in the beginning. Despite numerous touches the NULL O just seemed to fall short of a cap all round long. The Wolf D did very well in protecting the flag once off the flag pedestal. On our D end things went a bit differently with Wolf sneaking out with 5 caps to total 10 pts.
Round 2 was set to be played on the Wolf server but it was not running the same map version as we played Round 1 on. So back to the NULL server we went. 10-20 minutes went by with connection problems for both clans but more so for Wolf. The round started with both clans being short one or two players. This round NULL went with a heavier O and it paid off. We started to move teh enemy flag around more and more. Wolf made it out three times for a total of 6 points. After the smoke cleared NULL had made out with 10 caps for 19 pts. A dud conc was responsable for the 1 pt cap :).
All in all a great game. Wolf is a skilled clan. They are also polite and good sports. The conditions were not perfect but both clans made due with what they had. Best of luck and hope to see you again soon Wolf.
Mind over Matter bends Steel Maelstrom
Both teams fought hard. They started socking it to us early with 2 quick caps before we knew what was happening. Then we started to pick up some momentum on Offence and as a result, our defence got together too. Lag was present for everyone due to too many people on. 18 is just too much without a T3 and a 600 MHz machine, but it was easily playable.
We played second match on their server, with much the same results. The scouts and medics were flying everywhere. We took quite a heavy lead with 10-4 until late in the game when one player from each team took off and things opened up a bit. There was about 4 caps in last 5 minutes. lag again was present, but acceptable aside from some massive ping spikes that blacked everyone out for about 5 seconds. Then you wake up with an EMP on your head.
CompWorld Frag Force can't convince Special Defense Unit
After agreeing to SDU to play 2fort they forfeited...
100k.devil.legion meets Zodiac Braves
Last night, we faced off with one of our biggest challenges to date in OGL. Both rounds were held on ZB's server that actually started off giving 100kdl a slight ping advantage (nice break from the norm).
Round one was Well and both teams came out really strong. 100kdl immediately sent its jumpers over to the blue base as ZB had its jumpers coming out in full gear. We slipped a scout by one of ZB's strong defensive soldiers unharmed. This opened the door to cap #1 for 100kdl. Afterwards, 100kdl was able to put quite a few touches on the enemy flag bringing it in a total of 7 more times. ZB also put a few touches on our flag being able to sneak a cap out somewhere in the middle of the round. -Side note- Every time I left the base I saw at least 2 or 3 enemies pilling in through our door or water entrance. Hats off to 100kdl's defense who held strong in the heat of ZB's offensive pushes.
Round two was also held on ZB's server due to the better all around pings. 2forts started off really strong for both sides. ZB already had 2 scouts jumping in our base before our offense made it out of the battlements. ZB got the first flag touch of the game but was stopped short with our quick defense down below. In the meantime, 100kdl's offense rushed the enemy base and pulled the flag out before their team had enough time to respond. Losing the flag on the way out of the enemy base, 100kdl's star medic was able to bring the cap home. Most of the ZB offense was on a flag touch basis, however they were not able to pull out of the basement. 100kdl put quite a few touches on the enemy flag and was able to bring home 2 more caps with driving teamwork. ZB's basement defense was extremely hard to penetrate considering their very successful implementation of a layered defense.
ZB played a solid match and has a great team with a great attitude.
